Map update active id
Map update active id
I paid for and received a map update for my 2017 Maxima Platinum. I put in the SD card and switched the old card and the new card in and out as instructed. It finished and started the navigation and then said "Input Active ID". Where do I find this? I tried the activation code they gave me with the purchase and tried various other 16 digit numbers on theSD software box. What 16 digit id are they looking for? We are headed out for a trip early Saturday and with 5 year old maps, I thought it would be good to update them thinking it would be simple. No I have a navigation system that is useless until I can figure out where this active id is.
Found the answer
I'm going to answer my own question here in case it helps someone in the future.
The activation code they include in the purchase is generated based on the device id. In my case, the device id was incorrect. I purchased the map update by giving them the VIN of the car and they got the device id based on that VIN number. Somehow, the device id associated with the VIN wasn't right. With them on the phone, we put in the old SD card and then got an error when we started up the car. That error screen include something called SNO: which is the serial number and they said that serial number is the device id. Given that device id, they then re-generated the activation code using the correct device id and it then authenticated correctly with that code after putting in the new SD card..
