Spun bearing
Spun bearing
So on Tuesday i was driving to work, and my check engine came on followed by my car turning off. I towed it to my mechanic and the codes were for the crank shaft position sensor. He replaced it as well as the coils and spark plugs. I picked it up and noticed it was driving like it lacked power and it even shut off on idle. I called the mechanic and he said it’s probably unburned fuel in the cylinder. I drove a little longer and it shut off completely. Tow it again and he said it blew a fuse ( when it shut off it wouldnt let me start it or roll windows, lock doors etc) he changes the fuse starts the car and now the f#%*ing engine is knocking. Mind you the motor was replaced by teddy nissan summer of 2021 under warranty 😩 i just want advice i cant afford to keep dumping money into this car i might as well get a bmw
I myself absolutely dont. Once he remove the fuse from the positive terminal and started it i heard the clack clack sound. He said it sounds like a spun bearing, we exchanged words and i got in my girls car and left. But he indeed checked the oil and its black which it shouldnt be because I changed the oil less than 500 miles ago
lol im not sure what type of people are in this forum but idk what makes you think id take time out my life to come troll a forum bruh. Lol on a 300hp cvt family sedan forum no less lmao. U cant be serious. Im telling what i was told, i had 2 failed coils in 3 and 5 because nissan literally put all the old parts in my replacement motor. It threw a code on my way to work and shut off when i plugged in the computer it threw a code for mass air flow ( i unplugged it when trying to self diagnose) misfire in cylinder 3 ( old coils and sparks from the previous engine) as well as the cam shaft position sensor. I had it all replaced and didnt even have the car 2 hours before it clunked out again except it wouldnt even let me start it up this time. Windows wouldn’t roll doors wouldnt lock and it was throwing a key error code on the dash. I towed it again, he checked the fuses they were all good except the one in the positive terminal for the battery, he popped the fuse bridged it and the car started. When it did all you heard was clack clack clack. I pulled the dipstick myself and it was indeed dark as hell to be less than 1k miles. I run mobile 1 0w-20 btw
Confirmed today the bearing is indeed spun. Dropped the oil, it was watery as hell, as well as the cinnamon toast shaving swirl in the oil. Dropped some lucas oil stabilizer in first followed by some 5w-30. Its indeed knocking like hell 🥹. And when it gets up to temps it shuts off. The guess is when the cam sensor went and the 3rd and 5th cylinder failed, fuel was being dumped into the exhaust maybe ruined the cat? Because when i started the car up to limp it on the trailer it indeed has some light smoke coming from the back. So the only stab i have is the cat it the cause, probably back pressure being sent into the engine?
