Having a hard time pin pointing the exact location of the knock. You can hear it slightly at an idle and when you raise the RPM slightly it goes away. When you press the brake and put it in drive or reverse it definitely gets worse. You can also hear it more on the driver side when sitting in the car rather than standing outside. I had to unplug the fan to be able to hear it outside. The car drives fine and shifts normal but this noise is something that has just started. Currently sitting at 99k. I unplugged each coil pack one by one and it didn't go away. Any advise on where to start looking. Could this be a tranny issue or something in the motor

 

In this case, I'd pop for a dealer diagnostics report. It could be something simple like an idler pulley. Usually, they use a stethoscope to aid in finding the issue too.

I have a 16 plat and had similar issues. I would hear a clicking sound when I pulled off or reversed. I took it to the dealer and it turns out both my front control arms were damaged and I needed axle service. I just picked up my car after the service. Runs good as new.
