Bose speaking popping/crackling

Wanting to see if anyone else has had this issue and what the problem/solution ended up being.

I have crackling noises coming from the passenger side trunk (tray) speaker but it otherwise works fine. It worsens with bass and bumpy roads and I've recently discovered that it does not happen at all when it's cooler out (<17°C). Wiring seems good and doesn't relate to the music source.

It's been really hot lately and my car gets particularly hot in the sun so I'm thinking the heat may have fried it, what do you think? Any suggestions, or should I replace the speaker?
