okay i installed these new parts today. ive seen them a couple months ago on coilovers i installed back then. I don't know how they will stop noise. it's basically just another couple of pieces that are in between the spring. well see how they do, i don't get any noise anyway so...
yeh i just got the car back today after i raised hell yesturday at the body shop for not having the car done when it was supose to.

my ksports with the old parts clicked once in a while. i think it has to so with the collars, not the spring washer things i just put it. Although the old spring washers maybe squeaked a little bit because they were both plastic. well see how it goes. i think your axle is just messed up that's the noises you are hearing.
wha!? dude it better not. i mean it didn't make that noise before the coilovers but i guess now its due to the more pressure, force whatever from lowered stance that acts on the axles. if this is the case, does that mean that its time to change out my axles b/c its so old and can't take the extra pressure?
My CV was vibrating after I lowered mine, then after a while it subdued and didnt occur as much. Then I lowered it another 1/2 inch and its more prominent. So IMO, you could have a bad/worsening axle without even knowing it if you're not lowered.
Anyone know what the stock ride height is?

What Im trying to say is that even though you may not have heard/felt a bad CV before lowering, you might hear/feel it after lowering.
Got any grease? Should be green if I recall correctly. And yes, its possible that the CV will only click when turning, but it would seem to me that you would feel some sort of vibes too, not just hear clicking.

Oh man. That's what my shock looks like
I'm really disappointed since I bought these like 13 months ago. My ride is bumpy as hell now. The whole time I owned them I could never get them to stop bouncing.

Has anyone ever adjusted the struts so they are near stock ride height???? Since winter is coming I want to go back up soon and was wondering how close to stock height I can get....
When I first put them on, I was about 1" down. They could get close to stock height, Id say about .5" drop...not sure though.
Oh, and what is stock height?
Caracicatriz, do you bounce when you come to an abrupt halt from 2-3mph?

dude, driving in downtown columbia literally sucks ***. i have drive like 10 mph below the speed limit b/c its sooo stiff... oh well, thats what you get for getting aftermarket suspension..
Yeah, You would...
Im pretty sure my left two are blown. I think I am going to do three things: Make a complaint with the city to fix the man holes that they said "Oh yeah, no problem, they will be level with the road!"; get in contact with the previous owner that claimed only 3K mi usage; and call up Ksport and see if when I ship them for rebuild, they'll install those new parts for making them quite too...
Anyone know the turn around time for rebuilds?

Ok, let me ask this to all of you Ksport guys: Why did you choose Ksport? Why not Koni with GC? The price would not have been much different if you really shopped around. So why Ksport? Do you feel you bought the right stuff?
When Ksports were new to the maxima they were pretty good quality. I had GC and stock struts
before and wanted to change because back then everyone bashed GC's because they weren't real coilovers and that they skipped across the pavement during hard turns and they were bouncy and they made horrible noises etc.... So I bought ksports and was very very very impressed with them. However I got to that stupid stage where I thought I wanted to sell my car and so I sold them. Now that I'm back to stock I'm going to reuse my GC kit with the konis.
Damn I can't find the thread where they were fitting konis in the ksports. They were also doing it to the D2's. They said it totally changed the way the coilovers behaved. They never said what inserts they used though, but I'm guessing they used the front inserts that goes with their car.

they're pretty much plug and play, direct replacement
they have adjustable height independent of the preload
they have camber plates
both GCs and konis require you to personally modify your suspension i.e. more than just replace parts
also awhile ago everyone thought GCs were crap
What about this blowing really quickly thing? Is it a consistent thing? Or are most of the premature blows mainly do to a few quarks, installation errors, or aggressive driving/abuse?
Ok I'm getting pretty frustrated with my driver's side front coilover. It keeps making a clunking noise over any bump, little or big, and it's really annoying. I'm wondering if it's in the shock assembly, internally I mean.
Now before anyone says collars are loose etc, know that I have checked almost everything under there and it's all nice and tight. These KSports have never been winter driven and have less than 8000 miles on them. I've never had any noise issues whatsoever, they are properly installed, greased etc, until now when it's developed this clunking. If you just do a quick push down on the car's front end by the shock tower, even if you only compress it <1" or so it's enough to get the clunk.
As I said, all mounting bolts top and bottom, camber adj bolts, collars are tight etc, there's no play between the spring and the perches etc, I've checked other suspension components, ball joints, tie rod ends, control arms etc, most of these parts are pretty new with new ES bushings everywhere and they are nice and tight. Only thing I haven't checked yet is the sub-frame and cross member, but is it likely these would have loosened? I plan to check them yet but it definitely sounds like it's coming directly from the coilover area.
Any suggestions? Any one experienced something like this? Would the pillow ball joint be the culprit perhaps? It seemed solid when I took the coilover off the car and reassembled the spring assembly with new grease etc but maybe I didn't test it with enough force.

No preload really, just barely snug by hand.
I'm not slammed, with stock SE 16" rims and tire size I have maybe a 3+ finger gap. I can take actual measurements from the center of the wheel but I'm not sure how that will help at this point.

^^Agree...other than, I have no idea what it could be^^
On a side note: the upper nut, 17 mm I think, on the top of the coilover. What does it do? What should it be torqued to?
On another side note: The stock ride height(from the factory) is 28 inches even, the front and back are off by like 0.08in I think(read it somewhere).
