maxima985speed, DANG! How far down are you? I must hace done something wrong beacuse the threaded part is up into my bottom black collar by atleast 1-1.5 inches, and you're down about the same...why the raddical difference?

My front lip WAS exactly 3 inches from the ground. Post pictures of your car.

My car was jacked up in that picture if that makes any difference. How much preload do you have?

None. I just positioned the bottom perch where there was no load on the spring, but no up and down play either. Jacked up shouldn't make any diff. Ill go take some pics now.

Sorry about the pics, its night, and its the gay-rage so...haha.

Well, you are pretty high...

I should go measure mine right now. Just to let you know I've been know to go down to 24.25" on 18" 245/40 tires.

Oh dang...anyone know what the stock height is? I was told by SilMax that at 26 inches, I'm down 1.75 inches, so if that's accurate, its 27.75.

Also, if I had mine at 24" I do think my threaded rod(By the way, what's it really called?) would be sticking down. I dont know if it would be quite that far or not but it would be.

I'm at 26" ground to fender arch. Its low, not too low, but still noticable and comfortable.

maxima985speed...244" is damn low... event with 18"s If only our cars could handle being so low, but then the pot hole and speed bumps would get you anyway.

I find 26" is good for me, Low, comfortable, but I can still go over speed bumps with some sense of normality, and I still watch out for bumps on the road but I cant take a few should I happen to not see them

just finished mine but had a couple questions:

1) what are those rubber isolators for, cause i didn't use them

2) i torqued the upper nuts on the rear to 30-35lb i think and the lower bolts to 100lb, is that fine?

The isolators are for noise. IIRC the rear is more like 40-45 but it is clear when they are snug.

I thought you meant between the spring and the mount in which case most people have experience with them coming apart.

I couldn't find many reviews on the k-sports. I'm thinking about buying used ones, and just wondering how the k-sports feel. Also can you recommend what mileage k-sports would still be worth buying used?

I paid $500 shipped for mine. Ised for 6 months, 3K miles. They sat around for a little while and I had to work the collars, mounts and perches loose, but it was a great deal for some used very little. IMO, just look for some that have low mileage, and how long ago(if they have) they were rebuilt.

Well the reason for all of my noises was the alignment...got it aligned and they all went away....I have them set to half turn from full soft in front and 1 turn away from full soft in back...it is a little bouncy.....maybe it just the springs havent fully settled yet....

sorry but i need to know where this goes...

after i got it aligned, i'm getting click, poping sounds when turning, even rattling clunking sounds when just driving straight.

i have read the sources of noise thread and will try to resolve it. i didn't see anything about the pic above though..

I dont know if its me but I decided to put all 4 on full hard and drive around and it wasnt that bone rattling.....must be b/c I came from AGXs and sprints....It was too rough for a comfortable ride but not so I felt like my body was falling apart....they are a pretty good ride on one turn from full soft with a little preload though...

The life of the struts is completely dependant on road conditions, driving manners, and weather. The east coast and midwest members see much harsher weather conditions than those located in moderate/warmer climates. It's been repeated about a thousand times alerady in this thread. Please read every page before adding more to this mess!

Yeah, I am hoping mine stay in good condition. I need to stop the highly spirited driving. Haha.

How long should it take for springs to settle? Mine are used, and have been on for 4 weeks, but even at 1 turn away from full soft, I get a lot of bounce...

Turn the struts all the way to full hard and ride with it like that for a couple days then turn it back down....I did that and the bounce has seemed to lessen.

new parts for k-sport coilovers *pics*

got off the phone w/ ksport and told them about the clicking and popping sounds when turning. so they sent me these to replace the old ones.
has anyone done this yet? don't understand why they couldn't install these before they sold it to me. now i have to go disassemble everything to install these stupid things.

3. Rubber spring isolators rubbing against the metal. This will give you squeaking noises as you turn the steering wheel, and in some cases might give you dull clicks if the springs start binding.

Solution: Add some lithium grease or CV joint grease where the rubber washers make contact with the metal.
is that pertaining to the new ones i got?

sorry one more thing, a while ago, i heard like a metal to metal clunking noise. it ended being the very lower collar lock (the black metal one) came completely loose and the thread ended like smeared off or something. i can't screw it back on so i just ziptied it.
would the warranty cover this?

Alright, in need of some help. I am including a diagram for clarification.

Issue: A and B are pretty much the same for both rears(I couldn't get exact measurements, they're on the car). However, my right rear is like an inch higher than the left. Any reason why? I cant figure this out. I think I am going to take them off, adjust and set all the measurements and put them back on...

make sure you set the same amount of preload on both sides. also, go back and measure each parts, A and B, so there near the same.
