The box was 39.75lbs with the SS lines, hardware, pads, rotors and calipers....

So since the rotors where 13lbs each, then the calipers with the rest of the junk is 14lbs....

Wizard, you gonna have to wait.... the brakes will be at my shop Thursday. I'm just going off what specs I was given to me by the person I bought them from.

They where on a Maxima show car.... for 2K miles. Nissan owned that car and it was used for SEMA. Now it was parted out, I got a killer deal

39.75lbs is what UPS claims the box weights. And 13lbs each rotor is what the Nissan dude told me it weight.

Ok well I just got my Brembos and I got wood. Bishes are huge, yet so friggn light its not even funny.

According to my digital scale used for shipping, each rotor is 12.65lbs

Here are the pics showing you the size...

12 7/8" diameter and 1 1/8" thick.

Shots of the caliper mounting brackets and calipers themselfs.

Brackets are made out of aluminum with studs holding the brackets to the calipers.

Each LOADED caliper with pads is 6.25lbs and the caliper bracket is 1.25lbs.

SS lines are made by Goodridge.

Plenty of brake pad life left, the kit hasn't seen day light in about 2 years. I'm going to mount it after work (at work now) and see how it fits behind my wheels.

Excuse my missing bumper cover, its off getting repainted

Sweet!! Thanks for the invaluable info. You just may have made up my mind of which BBK to go with!

12.65 lb rotors FTW

Stock rotors with Hawk HPS, they are about 12 months old, use on the track few weeks ago. There are stress cracks everywhere on the rotors and the brakes make all kinds of funny noises while driving.

Brembos are awesome, the pedal is so still compared to OEM... and they bite from high speed like no ones business. I didn't drive more than few miles with them because I have no front bumper on the car.

Its getting a make over just for Maxus, plus the 177K mile paint on the front bumper was showing its age big time.

I am using the Brembo pads, but you can get Hawks, Ferodo, etc. There is a bunch of diff brake pads available, but I will try the Brembos and get some Ferodos for track duty.

Mike, interested in the offset of the rotors....how do they compare to stock?

Also wonder about the possibility of using those calipers with matt's 2-pc 6th gen rotors....pretty close in size, wonder if offset is the same. I've been getting annoyed with the z32 calipers and all the flex they have...

You know what, I didn't compare them much to the stockers as THT was in there telling me to hurry up and put a Quaife in his Maxima....

I will have to measure the rotors out for you.....

THT has the same identical wheels as mine, I can measure his stock rotors vs my Brembos and give you an idea on the rotor offset.

I do have the stock rotors laying on my tool box at work, I will do some measuring out on them too.

I can tell you the calipers are solid as a rock, the pedal feels direct and very firm compared to my OEM calipers. They grab like its no one elses business.

I need to score a set of STi calipers and see if they will bolt up. I know for a fact that the 04+ TL Brembo calipers WILL bolt up to our knuckles as the bracket spacing is identical. They just bolt right up to the knuckle vs my kit which has the brackets with 2 studs.

I'm going to give these a good review in about 2 weeks, I plan on hitting the track with the car then.

Now I need that damn Quaife.

The caliper itself flexes, as in when the pads are applied to the rotor the caliper gets pushed OUTWARDS from the rotor creating flex. It gives you spongy pedal.

Mike how do these brakes compare to your previous set up you had in terms of braking power; pedal feel, etc..? 2k4 rotors, and 300z calipers..

i dont think that has much to do with the fact that its made of aluminium. i think the relocation brackets can be blamed for this. perhaps this is why mine pretty much have no bite at 60+ but bite hard lower than 30/ maybe i will get down there and tighten everything a little bit more. although i doubt there is any room

No it's the caliper itself. If you have someone push the brake pedal hard with the tires off, you'll see BOTH sides of caliper move OUT. Remember that there are 2 pistons on EACH side... I can't speak for the aluminum Z calipers but I could see it on the (older) Wilwood SL 4 pot.

I wasn't ever a fan of my 300ZX / 2k4 setup... it was so heavy and really didn't stop any better than my OE brakes, the pedal was always spongy too no matter how many times I have bleed the brakes it was never up to my liking.

OEM brakes do a good job for pretty much 99% of this forum.

I got the Brembos because I needed them for the track, my car was greatly limited by the brakes. I was braking WAY early in order to shed some speed. Any later braking would result in me being in the grass.

So far the Brembos are quiet, and bite hard with excellent pedal feel. I will have to give em some miles over MAXUS weekend.

You can't even see them on my car due to my wheels.

I don't do "bling" mods, I do functional mods

Could be. The Z32s are pretty chunky though. Nissan DID change out to steel calipers. But I "think" it was because of the steel pistons/aluminum corroding. But I think as long as you keep them maintained well, you will be fine. I never had any problems. But I live in a pretty easy part of the country in regards to no salt etc...

13" Cobra rotors
30mm Z32 iron calipers
stainless steel lines
OZ Crono HT rims

The setup is HEAVY. Heavier than I wanted it to be but the deal was too good to pass up. The rims at 19 pounds a piece do help to compensate for the heavy rotors/calipers. It hasn't been the night/day difference in braking but it certainly has gotten better. The more dramatic difference I've noticed is going from the heavier (22.5 pound) ASA AR1's to the OZ Crono's - the car turns with better anticipation, is flatter through the turn and has better control. I'd probably stick to a darker paint for the rotors to make the rims stand out if I had to do it again. Plenty of clearance with the Crono's.
