Installing the LTB2

So within the past few months I somehow have acquired an LTB stage II. I tried putting it on yesterday with Akumachan. Desipte all the new swear words invented and loading and unloading the suspension hundreds of times, WE COULD NOT GET THE F*CKER TO FIT. We finally got it to fit on the front two LCA bushing pins (believe that's what they were called) but then weren't sure whether to use the triangular "washers" or not. Either way (tried it both ways), even using a cylinder jack under the rear of the LTB we could NOT get enough thread through either of the rear holes to get the nuts to catch, since they've got about 3mm of unthreaded section. I didn't really feel like taking the nuts to a grinder (sounds painful), so does ANYONE have a few pointers on installing this demon of a simple mod? Do you use the weird triangular pushing pin washers? Is there a way of NOT using a hammer to jam the socket into the two front holes (which we had to do, multiple times) in order to tighten the bushing pin nuts? I unbolted my FSTB, thinking that it would help, then forgot to rebolt my upper strut mounts, which also probably caused problems... but it will still be a HUGE PITA.
I mean, I know it's supposed to be a tight fit, but this is ricockulous.

I was probably the first person to install a production LTB II for a 4th gen, and I encountered problems like yours. I ended up using a jack to bend the middle of the LTB so it would fit around the rear two studs, and even then it was really hard to get it over the ends of the studs. But

After I posted with the installation problems, Matt said (and I know Matt's a great guy but this really p!ssed me off) oh, well you're supposed to remove those two brackets that the rear studs go through. I assume he changed the instructions after that to state as such, but I don't know. So if you haven't removed those black dished brackets, you should.

There are plenty of other places to put a jack/jack stand under the front end of the car.

Yeah, what are you talking about? The side front jack points are the frame rails just under the front doors.

Here's a photo of my car. You can see one of the brackets in the right foreground, just above the bar end.

I dug up some threads that talk about LTB fitment on 4th and 5th gens. I can't find the thread or PM where I recall Matt telling me to remove these brackets (this was about two years ago), but I'm almost positive that's what he said.

You should PM or e-mail Matt at tech@mattblehm.com. He's a good guy and will help you out.

Hm. The jacking points of factory jacks are on the frame rails, however you don't want to use a flat-topped jackstand there.

I actually PMed Matt right after I posted the thread, I just assume he hasn't gotten around to answering yet. I don't want to pester him so I'll hold off on emailing him.

Thanks for digging up the threads on fitment, man.

The regular front jack point, dead center under the bumper, is the best. Why would you try to use anything else unless you're changing a flat tire?

Because that's a jack point, you need additional places to put jackstands...

Oh, sorry I misread what you wrote. The frame rails have the front jackstand points, correct, and I know the FSM says to only use the Nissan adapter things, but I've always put my $14.99 jackstands right there and I've never had a problem. If you're worried about that I think you're worrying about nothing.
