I'll leave this thread here for a while since it's not a question that usually comes up and might require some custom work, but be prepared to be flamed heavily. IMO if you have a requirement to lift the car up, you'll probably have to fabricate some kind of spacers and extended lugs for the upper strut mount gotme:

anyhow, in for the

Seriously though, to anyone who posts in this thread: this is not the 4th gen forum or the general forum. Keep the flaming to a mininum (though a little bit is warranted in this case), and stick to the question at hand. If you're gonna flame, you need to provide some actual information as well. (like a tradeoff)

OP: .....Personally I think 22's on a maxima are a terrible idea and no matter what you do, you are going to have serious suspension and handling problems with the car like that....

Good post, Irish. Let's not flame the guy, if he wants to lift a Max he can lift it. I've never heard of it but I'm sure it's possible. My advice is to go to a shop that does lifted cars and get their advice or estimate. I doubt anyone makes kits for Maximas, but I could be wrong! That type of customer is not the typical Org member so who knows.

Awwwwww yyyyeah boy!

One way would be to make the car much lighter thus making it sit higher...

I would say airbags, but there are limits to those I'm sure....I say if you want 22's, go buy a car that can handle them like a Caprice or Crown Vic. 22's just weren't made for Maximas.

Tub out your wheel wells? you wouldnt necessarily have to deal with suspension geometry issues, but it would require cutting up your sheetmetal.

Actually I didn't make myself clear.
The constructive advice was to really go to an off road shop and possibly get some ideas

The flame was about the chrome but hey, who knows what one could come up with? 22 wheels are so off the wall for a 4th gen Maxima maybe a chromed setup of something would go along with the whole idea!

May i ask why you would want 22's. I know you cant loose with 22's but i mean the ride has got to be horrible with the car raised and plus you'd have to run low profile tire and then if you hit a pothole you'd damage the 2-3k rims if they are not more.

they sell coil spacers for trucks, maybe you could get a set for your struts.

on the other hand, 22's dont belong on any car, truck or SUV. in fact, every company that manufactures them ought to be shut down.
