I thought it was known that the VQ35 auto trans was a little more stout than the VQ30 trans. Japmax had his 3.0 auto last about three days on his new VQ35.

Even if you can prove they have the same stall speed is evidence enough that there is a difference, even if it's only in the torque converter.

They have different stall speeds and the 3.5 is known to be slightly beefed up, but the ratios are the same for all 00-03, and I'm guessing all 04+ 4 speeds autos.

I still would thing the 5 speed automatic would have been worlds better had it been fitted in 02+ Maximas.

japan max was mean to his tranny though.

Does anyone know what has failed in Japmax autotranny? As far as I know the hybrid will have only 15-20 hp more than normal vq30, will that make such a difference???

Actually they do kill them all the time. You just don't hear about it as much.
