potential and future planing
all right, well, the maxima for now is my daily driven reliable vehicle, well im curious as to what i can expect out the car for when the T-bird is done, or i get a 3rd car
i was thinking about trying to get the maximum performance out of the 3.0 all motor
what kind of work could be done to it?
im looking information on
-who makes a good tune for the car
-witch nissan 3.0 family heads are the best to put attom an n/a setup (stock ones ported, or grab heads from another 3.0 based nissan car have them ported and go with that)
-what the stock motor can rev to safely (i was figruing a 7100 rpm redline might be fine, but im not totaly sure)
-how strong the bottom end of my current engine actually is
-if you can use nissan spare parts up the compression ratio (as in head "a" has less combustion chamber area then head "b" on my car stock)
-how strong the stock 5spd is, if it would need work if i wanted to step the cars engine up
can anyone help me, or have examples of a good engine build, i would like to see this car become very quick and reliable with alot of reving capabilities

-the only other 3L VQs are the DD and the DET, cant use the DD unless you convert your whole fule system and the DET may flow more but not sure
-7200rmp is what most people set their rev limiter at 8000rpm has been done but not sure how long that will last
-hal is putting down 600whp/610+wtq on stock internals, but he is the max trubo master
-ummm, swap the 3.5L bottom end from a newer maxima and youll have 3.5L and 12.5:1 compression other than that I dont think there is a easy swap to get higher compression, cant use the 3.5L heads due to the cariable cams
-holds well, but definatly not bulletproof, people have shredded 3rd gear with minimal bolt ons, better off with a 2000+5spd or a 2002+ 6spd and upgraded clutch
hope that helps
3.0 heads on a 3.5 shortblock results in 11.6:1 compression
To the original guy, the only heads that will work are VQ heads. There have been some good discussions on the things you are asking about, check out some of the other threads in this section.

How fast do you want your car? do you want torque? or just high rpm hp? Do you wanna change displacement
