TB and injectors? This is news to me. I did extensive reading on various swap theads and not once did I read about this. I am assuming this is not mandatory but will help the cams increase power?
(BTW I have a DE-K)

I tried to PM Stephen Max but no luck..No rush for the spacers as yet though as its winter now.
Oh crap Im sorry, I answered the question assuming you were asking about what is needed to do a full 3.5 swap. If that's what you were asking about then yea man, you need that stuff that I listed.

If you meant to ask about the CAM SWAP, then all you need is the adapters/spacers from stephenmax and thats all. Oh yea, patience, time and beer too, thats a must

And yes you could do it with the engine in the car. I recently replaced my head gaskets with the engine in the car. I must say...Its a killer for your back, its time consuming cus of the angling that you'll have to do with the engine for the timing covers to clear the timing cover engine mount block stud. Also when you put the rear cover back on you have to clear the bolt in a way that it wont smear too much of the silicone. Its a mission, but it IS possible to do it. I did it in my driveway, so you can do it if you know what you're doing

Sorry about the confusion if you were asking about the cam swap

No prob, I was just asking about the cam swap alone. I read on other posts about the timing covers. So my understanding is the timing covers both front and rear do not have to be modified, just its a pain to put back on? After this is answered I got everything down (now to locate Stephen Max). Being 6'2 will not help my back

BTW google is your friend if you currently do not have the search feature

There is no special procedure when installing the 3.5 cams in a 3.0 vs. installing 3.0 cams in a 3.0. The process is documented in the haynes manual or you can use the FSM if you are somewhat familiar with some of the processes involved as it tends to skip steps that are explained elsewhere. The only difference is installing the spacers/adapters which is straighforward.

Don't really need the timing gear and water pump. Just need Cams, spacers and beer as previously mentioned lol.

He knows that but he decided to replace them while the timing cover was off.

- If you get the spacers/adapters from stephenmax you wont have to drill the cams, thus you wont even have to take them out

^^^the THREE things that REALLY need to be changed/added in the 3.5 swap faq
