Crank shaft Knifed Edged?

what is the benifits of knifed egding the crank. does it just lower recipricating mass. and if i decide to get that done does the whole bottom end assembly gonna have to be balanced expecially since im putting in lighter pistons lighter pins and lighter rods. has anyone had this done.

any input will be helpful: thanx in adance

Don't waste your time doing this stuff to a 3rd gen. Step up to any VQ-powered maxima and then consider it. Seriously, it's not worth it whichever engine you have.
