VQ35DE: Question about fuel rail

I was wondering how you other guys doing this swap like Tilley had the 3.5 fuel rail converted to return-style? That's one part of the swap I hadn't given much thought to until now...

Also what happens with the fuel filter? Same? Should I change for 1995-1996 300zx filter?

Do you need a return style fuel system? If not, I say keep the returnless...

Well I'm running the 1995 ECU so I don't think I can run a returnless...

Why would the ECU care?

Ah I see...

I know what your thoughts are on the return vs returnless, but I did some research and it seems the maintenance would be more complicated/expensive on a Returnless...

Difficulty is in the eye of the beholder. Returnless is every bit as simple as return and more productive.

So let me get this straight. On a return system, the rail sees whatever pressure the pump runs at right? But on a returnless system, the pressure the rail sees is already regulated? Using a DE-K FPR (opposed to using an aftermarket) would not work on a returnless system correct?

On a return system the FPR dead ends the feed pressure like a Dam at the end of a river. On a returnless system the fuel is pre-regulated like a spilloff Dam somewhere in the middle of a river.

And even by 2001 it was still return-style, right? God, nissan changed a hell of alot of things for 2002... So the returnless 02's do have a FPR. You mentionned that the 02's are still at 3.0 BAR, just like the 95. So why couldn't we use: 3.5 rail, De-K injectors, and 3.5 FPR, no need for an aftermarket?

The 3.5 FPR is somewhere in the tank... I will post some pics tomorrow of how I connected the DE-K FPR to the 3.5 rail.

Thanks man. I remember Tilley mentioning he was running lean after he posted his 233whp/230wtq figure. I guess a SAFC won't hurt either when this is done, they're so cheap.
