00vi help!

Ah.. so the manifold wasn't seated right then? That would do it...
I used the same place I hooked up the positive for the switch. I just tapped into the closest connector right after the ignition switch. I tapped 3 lines there... one for the switch, one for an LED I wired on my dash, and one for the VIAS solenoid. But it can be anywhere as long as it's a switched +12v source.

everything works fine and this thing pulls like crazy up top. i chirp second with my 17s on with the drop resistor. never did that before. a few idle issues with the TPS that can be worked out, but other than that, everything is ok. we hooked up the VI to the pos. battery terminal and it opened right up. Thank you everyone who helped out with the install, DandyMax, Stephen Max, Kevlo911, THT, Nismo3112, s0ber, jmeister, and anyone else.

CAI, Y pipe, custom cat back, and thats it i believe. my CAI it so much quieter with the VI on, its crazy. i have the VI opening at around 4800-4900 rpm with the summit switch. im sure dave is just glad to get me out of his house. all that time without a shower started to take a toll on us today when it was really warm.

You are using a 4th gen TB? How far back did your TB get pushed with the VI? I cant connect my CAI because it doesnt reach anymore ;[

yes, im using everything 4th gen minus the VI itself. youll probably have to redrill the hole. im using the stock resonator, so maybe that gives it some extra length. you could try flipping the CAI part of the CAI around and drill the hole according to that. Youll get much more reach that way. If im not mistaken

or you could try a longer coupler i do suppose. re-drilling would suck, but its always an option. or you could take a dremel for that extra inch you need. try the stock mid pipe and see if that would give you the extension you need.
#93
Maybe go to Home Depot and get some 3" PVC piping and couplers and make an extension. It may not be the most elegant solution but it might work until you find a better one (and it would be cheap)...
EDIT: oh.. only short an inch you say... that's a bit trickier then. I'd like to redo my intake too but haven't given it much serious thought yet as to what the best way would be...

We're getting a 1002, left bank lean fuel mixture. I'm guessing this is the front bank and there is still a small leak between the manifolds. The manifold is only being held in with 2 bolts anyway so that's my reasoning.
#95
Yes the left bank is the front and you'll definitely want to get more bolts on there eventually. It's possible it's not making an even seal across all runners. I also picked up one of the back support brackets from Nissan (for some reason they could only get the right one)

i made it home from chicago, 2.5 hour drive, and the code hasnt came back. no problems. this thing is fun on the highway. i was playing around with a 350z up til 120 and was back by a car or so. he waved and left the freeway. it still idles a little rough, and the idle will jump from between 500 and 1100 RPMs. Is this the ECU relearning that more air is coming in, or is it something i need to adjust?

Congrats on getting it running.

thanks. the code came back today, so ill look at getting at least two more bolts onto the VI. Ill mess around with some vacuum hoses and the TPS to try and get all of the kinks out. But its not having any problems starting, and the high idle happens while in park, in Drive, it's ok, at about 600 rpm. So I'll try working on that later
