00VI install begins soon...

O.k., here's what I have. What else do I need?

5th gen throttle body
Injectors with Fuel Rail
Rear valve cover
rear coil packs
lower intake plenum
egr valve

I hope to begin in the next week or so, I'll also be putting in the technosquare ECU. Anyone else ever put those 2 together?

You need the EGR Guide Tube, not the entire EGR Valve...

You need the adapter plate if you want to make use of your A32 IACV...

Also make sure you get the 6 plugs for the DE-K Injectors.

Umm... I think so, do I really need it? I mean really?
So, if I don't have the plugs, where do I get them? Are they a part I can order from one of the Nissan dealers?

No, well... The only thing you can order from nissan is the subharness, which only contains 3, would you need 2 subharnesses to get all 6, and thats gonna cost you....

The other 3 are part of the main engine harness

Or you can call another junk yard for the plugs.

It seems as if it wouldn't cost much more money to do a 3.5 swap instead, assuming you do your own labor. What is all that stuff mentioned above going to cost? $500? You can get a used 3.5 for just a few clams more.

It does, but IMO the marginal cost of the parts and your labor is fairly low in comparing the benefits you get with the full 3.5 swap rather than just putting on the 00vi.

I don't know how long it would take to put on the 00vi, but I'm thinking prolly 3-4 hours of one's labor. 3.5 swap, 8-12 hours?

Seems to me that the increased power and having a practically new engine would be worth your extra labor and maybe ~$250 more. Alternatively, if you don't want the 3.5 and want to save some money, putting in a low mileage DE-K for ~$500 would be a better choice than just a 00vi.

If you have the 3.5 assembled, ready to drop in, it can be done in 12 hours.

TS ECU installed today... Wow, what a differance. If the 00VI does a lot more I'm going to be afraid. I never would have guessed the ECU mod would be so noticable. Looking forward to moving on with the project.

Was TS able to give you a raised rev? Thought they couldn't do that for most ECUs yet. It would be nice with your 00vi.

I thought TS cracked it but not for the 99ers.

I see where your going foobeca, but also dont forget for decent power to get put down you'll need a new set of headers. You factory clutch wont be able to hold that power down so a new one will be needed, the money starts adding up.

Glad this thread poped up I can add certain items to my shopping list

Anyone have a vote on the best way to get the ECU in and out? Easier taking out the whole bracket or the ECU out of the bracket? Neither one is particularly easy.
