anyone done an all out VQ35 swap?
well i want to swap in a vq35 into my max after winter, cuz i bought a cobra to try and satisfy my speed craving. But i just like my maxima more... if only it had more power. i had a sc b4 but just didn't like the sparadic unreliableness of the setup. my question is has anyone done an all out swap of a vq35, by that i mean:
headers
cams
intake plenum spacer
flywheel
intake
full exhaust
forged pistons
safc2
and whatever else i am forgetting... it would think that would make about 330 at the crank on motor which would be nasty in a 4th gen, and with nitrous would probably be hardly drivable. seems that if someone is to have tilley drill the cams and open up the engine, would be a good opportunity to throw in some performance cams and maybe pistons to hold nitrous. There are some crazy bolt ons i was reading about for the vq35, they are coming out with a 3.8L stroker and bigger cylinder heads, all for a ton of $$ but if someone had the money to do all of that on a maxima would be insane i think.

I don't think anybody has done a full out swap...and I don't believe anyone has done much as far as 2k2-2k3's are concerned either....the farthest someone ever gone with a vq35 is probably sr20den...but he still hasn't touched the inside of his motor

Based on the 350z's, Headers, exhaust, intake, tuning, plenum and cams would yield upwards of 280whp which is around 330 crank HP like you stated. Most of us that have done the swap are around 230-235whp right now and that seems to be good for low 13's.

hmmm this seems the direction that i'll go with on my maxima after i sell my cobra. i already have full exhaust anda stage 2 clutch with a new tranny in the car so its ready. but anymore feedback is good
