Compression Results

I tested my compression today and it was as follows.

1..205-210
3..205-210
5..205-210

2..190-195
4..190-195
6..190-195

You guys know why front cylinders read different from the rears? each side individually is consistant. but dont kno if its ok for one side to have higher than the other?

Maybe a slight difference in valve overlap between the two banks. Or perhaps carbon buildup is greater in the rear bank. Not enough difference to worry about, though.

And that's still a strong engine you got there.

I have heard that one side runs a lil richer than the other. therefore carbon buildup?

It would be pretty amazing if every cylinder got exactly the same amount of air as the others.

isnt that high of a compression an indicator of alot of carbon buildup on the piston top causing the compression to rise?

what is spec according to the FSM? 170psi?

wait hold on... when you check the compression do you crank the motor till the gauage stops moving or do you just crank it for a couple of turns... cuz the standard pressure is 185 psi... i just checked mine on a warmed up engine and they all were 185....

Crank about 3-4 seconds. The gauge should have stopped moving by then

yea as you crank, it goes higher and higher till it does not pass certain point, that should be the reading ur looking for. at least thats how me and s0ber did it.
