PF throttle body

And you dont need to worry about the differences bet'n the 5th and 4th gen IACV. Only 00VI swap 4th gens need to worry about that. Our problem is that the 5th gen IACV would not fit because of our EGR stuff sits higher than the 5th gens', so we just relocate it somewhere else, or just not use it.
You using a PF TB would need to relocate the IACV. For pictures on how it looks like you can check the 00VI swaps and see for yourself to get an idea.
The PF has a IACV like the 5th gen that is below the TB so I was thinking it might be possible to either use the PF IACV or to convert and use the 5th gen on on the PF TB. I would need a 5th gen IACV to really know if any of it is possible.

Got dyno yet?
Got dyno yet?

I think i am going to do it at Import face off on Feb 18, My zeitronix is supposed to be here wed so i can make a few adjustments this weekend and make sure i am getting the correct amount of boost.
BTW if this is possible how come none of the 5th gens have done this yet?
Cost with unproven gains to back it up IMO.
Not many 4th geners do it and a few have switched back to stock even.
I think the consensus is that it isn't worthwhile unless you've done all the other mods.
I think you should dyno first, then do this mod, and dyno again.

well the reason i wanted to do it is because i wanted to run a 3" charge pipe. Or would it be just as worthwhile to use my stock TB w/ the 3" charge pipe?
Search the FI forum for the opinions, but IIRC, going to 3" charge piping is a strong reason to go with the PF throttle-body.
Just do what StephenMax does and you won't go wrong...

In your case Chris, I'd go for it.
I believe it is possible to make the 5th gen IACV fit the PF TB, since the gaskets are the same. IIRC, the shape/bolt pattern is different, so maybe you could just drill/tap new holes?

What electronics do you need?

Anyone out there know to what limit the stock ECU can adjust? Obviously the ECU will get to a point where it says "I have too much air...there must be something wrong" and then kick out a code or two.

You obviously know very little about how ECU systems work.

If your MAF sensor maxes out then the car can't read any more air and yes there will problems, but he has already addressed that with Emanage.

This is a good alternative to the 01/02 PF throttle body when doing a VQ35 swap?
I have been looking for the PF TB, but no luck yet.. I'd do the electronic to cable conversion to the 03 Max TB, but I dont have the 96 TB for parts.
Anyone want to sell a 96 TB CHEAP, for parts?
