Kinetix IM for FWD VQs
Most of you may remember that this has been in the works since last spring/summer and never looked liked it would come through. Well, the Altima guys managed to get Kinetix to actually finish a couple of em and have pics of the IM installed.
Dynos are supposedly going to take place this on Thursday this week.

So far Kinetix says they are expecting 10-15 whp over stock, but the dyno is supposed to be on Thursday, I'll post results here when they are posted on the Alti boards.
Hope they have a good baseline too....

A complete 350Z Intake Manifold can be purchased for approx $225 and the 1/2" Motordyne spacer is around $290 as well as a few bucks to reweld the neck but still much cheaper and more HP than anything else on the market and the way that most of the 350Z guys are now going.
Remember this is compared to the stock 350Z manifold which is certainly higher output than our stock manifold so the increases are even higher. Presently we don't know the difference between our stocker and the 350Z stocker.
PS I ordered mine today. (manifold and spacer)

Even if adds 10 peak, what about at 6550? Peak #'s are for dyno queens, gains on the right side of the tach are for certain people. Gains all over are for fantasies.
Price is Screw bling.

Very nice looking IM!! Glad they finally came through but the price seems a bit steep. What kind of difference in gains would it be between the Z IM vs Z IM with spacer? (guesstimations...) I'm thinking maybe 5hp at the peak?

For 12-14 HP over a stock 350Z manifold, I will get the hood closed, trust me.

So, does the spacer you're all talking about serve the same function on the Kinetix plenum as it does in the Z plenum?
I thought the ZIM spacer helped the front 2 cyls get more air...and looking at the Kinetix, all seems fine since there is no clamshell-type design to it.

IM looks sexy.
awaiting dyno.
If the gains with this IM arent better than the Z IM, then its not worth the $750 price tag. Given it would be easier to install, then getting the Z cut and welded, still...

jime, do you plan to add a scoop or shave the underbody of the hood?

No scoop for me, my hood is already shaved, so if I have to I will raise the rear and front if necessary or modify the manifold more. I will decide that when I see what is required.

I got all 3 pieces for $180 shipped, but not all from the same seller though.
Shop around on my350z.com and you can find some sweet deals.

that manifold looks nice....if it has 10-15hp gains over a stock maxima IM that would ne sweet but i dunno for 750 bux...i bet with a little time an effort somone could build an IM for a 4th gen for less than that

no way i am going to pay $750 for that thing. i say this thing will be no better then a stock 350z im especially a 350z im with a 1/2 spacer which is on order for me. my set up ran me about $400 for everything. spending another $350 or more just for the shiny/bling factor, i cant do that.

The main reason why it costs so much is because of the size of the market for this product. As for now they are only marketing this for the 3.5 Altima, but we all know this will work and should be marketed to other FWD 3.5 platforms. If they expanded their market to a broader group, the price should definitely drop.

So .... who here cares about peak #'s?
The point behind this product (IMO) is high RPM power since FWD VQ's don't like that end of the tach.
We have decent low and midrange.. but lack the top end Z/G/M/FX have.
I wouldn't care if it did not gain me anything peak, but 20+ @ 6550 would be nice...
