mmm 3 grand to spend

yes thats right i have 3 grand to spend on the max was goign to buy a comp for my website company but i said forget it, but anyways i think i want to get a 5 spd swap which might be around 2 grand i hope but what else should i get to make this max fly all i have now is exhaust and intake. Maby UDP or something.


OR......

should i keep the automatic and use the 3 grand one performance parts if so what any thought would be much appreciated

5speed swap and VQ35 swap can be done under 3grand. In fact, you can prob buy headers too.

ok ive thought of this what are the pros and cons of this? what is output of the 3.5 and where would i get one

well truth is im 18 and i dont know alot about cars and the swap seems like a HUGE project so i dont know and hwo reliable they are once done and dont think there is anyone aroudn where i live that could do it

Why don't you sell your car, then add like $500 to what you got for it, and buy a 5spd? Then you have $2500 for all sorts of cool mods

because its a pain in the *** to find a 5 speed around here althought that is a good idea hwo much you think i could get for my max it pearl white, 143,000 miles new tranny rebuilt has about 5,000 miles on it new tires and brakes, leather you knwo all the SE goodies

For $3k I did a 5spd swap, 3.5 swap, got headers, and a Spec Stage 3 clutch.

wow thats really good just dont know where i would get parts around here or who would be able to do it. My mechanic specializes in imports he has a TT 240 but this swap looks like you need to knwo your max to do the swap, but then again that could jsut be me

Same here $3K should get you allot of goodies to get you in the 12's easy.
You need to personally talk to someone on the phone call Tilley or anyone else including myself that has done these swaps it's just to much to type and I know your not going to want to read all those painfully long 3.5 swap threads. why not 6spd? 5spd off a 3.0 bolts to vq35?

It's allot of work to swap to a 6spd it's cable. It's not worth the hassle just for an extra top cruising gear.
