Has anybody noticed...

that certain VQ's have an extra coolant passage in the center of the block's valley? I've noticed the DEK's and Pathfinder/QX4 VQ35DE's have it and no others do (that I've seen so far). 350Z VQ35DE's have a place for the passage but it is blocked off w/ a plate.

I wonder why some VQ's have coolant flowing through that passage and some do not???

could have something to do with the fact that 350z thermostats keep the car about 10* cooler than any other VQ35.

Then again maybe it doesn't have anything to do with that.
