The recent story of the 3.5 swap that went bad scares me despite the fact that it is a unique case. In addition to that, the 3.5 oil consumption stories are pretty nasty. This is what has leaned me towards DEK. But hey, your money, your car, your choice ... enjoy.

There have been a few probs with 3.5 swaps, but I bet theyre simple fixes that people have just overlooked.

There's no one I would recommend more than Tilley for this swap. He prepped the motor took about a few days BEFORE I came to his shop. His aresenal of parts and what not is ludacris and there really is not much down time if any at all. I went to his place stayed Friday night, and Saturday. Friday night my old motor was out. Saturday the new motor was in, if it wasn't for Maximum Tunings tranny my car would've been VQ35 swapped in 12 hours, nevertheless; he swapped the trans the next day and I was out Sunday. I have had ZERO issues. We had one issue at first and that was the mating surface for the crank sensor. Asides from that, I added back my EGR and added headers, a new cat and other minor things. He definately knows what he's doing since he's the one that essentially perfected the swap and innovated it. Again I repeat I stand by him and will let no one touch my car for mechanical sh8 but him.

swap should take nomore then 2-3 days if you do it the way everybody else has been doing it. most of the time it is waiting for parts and etc. and to comment on oil burning issues, i will pitch in my 2 cents. i been drving on my vq35 since 25k and i am at 60k and no oil problems whatsoever.

What up dudes, I am basically asking the same question he is Mforrest100 and Tavarish. I am intersted in getting the 3.5 swap done this summer. Car been parked up 4 like 5 months and I bou to take it out for the summer. I notice a small oil leak when I moved it from garage and started it. How do u guys recommend for the swap if not urself and how much should I expect to spend. 1500- 2000?
