EU in but some problems

Timing won't advance or retard

Timing reads good at idle, it's at 15.

Wideband will be here in the next two weeks so then I can mess with fuel.

Why won't my timing work?

Timing won't advance or retard until new version is released, supposedly at the end of June.

Timing won't retard at idle or WOT?

If WOT, how did you verify?

At idle, I have the beta software that reads out crank. And the timing stays at 15 at idle when I try to add +5 in the map.

Don't use idle as a test and don't use an OBD scanner.

Dandy gave you the Beta version?

Ask Greddy Or complain about the car really

But how should I setup the rpm switch? Anyway I can make it send 12v instead of ground at the desired rpm? Do I HAVE to use a relay?

I didn't give it to him.

And like Alex said, you can't use a scanner to verify timing. It's blind to the EU.

Im not using a scanner, I don't own one. But the EU can log timing, and when it warms up it is at 15. Once you start revving it can go past40-50. SO I let the car warm up and sit there, it stayed at 15. I tried to add 5 degrees of timing and it did nothing, it did not go to 20. Rpms did not change. I tried to retard at idle and nothing still, no changes. What did I do wrong?

No idea, but try logging WOT with/without some retard values.

I can't tell you from here obviously but the standard procedure applies: Check wiring, then jumpers, then parameter settings & dip switches. And also that firmware/software/support tool versions are all the same.

Oh...I thought, since the non-Beta default was INJ Adj and the INJ Timing was greyed out, you Beta guys had the INJ Timing default.

Didn't even think of that...

Can you verify you both have the SAME Beta version and if so, send me one?

Apparently Greddy isn't all that concerned about it getting out?

It is still not supposed to be available publicly, at least from what they've told me. There have been 4 different 1.15's to my knowledge and I don't know which one he has, it may not be the most current version of 1.15 (may not matter though-there are several updates being rolled into one and most are not VQ30 related).

On another note, don't know if you saw my recent 1/4 mile threads but I was having all kinds of problems with the 2-step not activating or just coming on and then deactivating before the launch even. I recently looked at the datalogs and my TPS signal is not holding for some strange reason... foot's on the floor but the % logged by the EU drops at a fairly fast rate. I'm going to have to look into this as it really frustrated me several times. Once I was sitting there at the line and it deactivated early and my rpms shot to 7900 in the split second before I'd realized what happened!!

Alex you should see if Greddy will give it to you, tell them you need because the car doesnt run smooth on the other rpm choices.

Are you tapping or intercepting the TPS signal?

Are you changing **** on the fly? Looks like your timing changed...

Either the stock ECU is freaking and dumping/cutting fuel or the EU isn't measuring the input correctly. Not sure...

Try selecting Airflow Adjustment map, even though it is all zeros and do another log.

Doubt it makes a difference, but config the Dip Switch on the Front Panel for the maps.
