Extrude Hone a VQ35 Intake Manifold?

I know that there are a few 4th gen guys that Extrude hone thier OEM Manifolds and reported postive gains.

I was just wondering if the same could be said for the VQ35 Intake Manifold.

go for it. It will help but the horsepower per $$$ is bad. Extrude honing a manifold is $600-$800 dollars depending on the manifold.

http://www.gethoned.com/parts.php?ge...how=automotive

It looks like a VQ35 fwd manifold and elbow would be $749. It might make 5 or 10 hp, but the price is steep.

After looking at my intake manifold several times and talking w/ some other org members, we may have figured out that the secret sauce manifold may not be so secret anymore.

I will post pictures of mine when i get done with it. Of course i have to get the car running first

it's a pretty easy mod. All you really have to do is look. SR20DEN just has a bit of, how you say, COMMON SENSE.

Yea i never could figure it out till i looked in my manifold. I then thought about how i remembered reading about people removing the VI rod out of their 2000 vi to increase peak power due to the increase in air volume.

And no one ever really questioned or considered why I stopped making them.

Also, due to the selfishness of certain .org members, and advice from those exact same people, I won't be posting future mod lists. Just dyno sheets only.

It's a good thing those people are just dealing with the very old stuff.

Pot calling the kettle black. You're the one being selfish by not telling people how you are getting the power you're getting. Even if the secret was out, people would still pay to have their IM modified. Some would do it on their own.

Why do you even post here on the org? You don't share any information. All you seem to do is brag about your dyno sheets and timeslips.

Don't take this the wrong way, but do you really expect people not to do something just because you said not to? IMO there is nothing wrong w/ people spreading the info on SSIM since you will not sell it. I tried on several occassions to buy one from you and you would not sell it to me. I was going to get it one way or another, but it would have been better for you if you had just sold it to me. You honestly cannot get mad at people for doing this themselves when you don't even sell the product to anyone.

It is like you are trying to rub your mods in peoples face. "look what i got and you cant have, na na na na"

Some beta testers did.

Is it my fault people have ignored all of the MORE important posts I have made. I can't MAKE people read the information I give them. I can't MAKE people pay attention. And you're saying I am selfish because of ONE thing that I refused to disclose? Which wasn't as important as some of the things people chose to ignore.

Why do you even post here on the org? You don't share any information. All you seem to do is brag about your dyno sheets and timeslips.
And I will alow the ignorant to assume that. It's not like it's a secret where the search button is. Everything you've ever wanted to know about ALL my mods is right there. People need to stop making such a d@mn big deal about the stupid manifold and put more effort into other things.

All this "secret mods" BS is something a bunch of women would do. If someone has information which increases the performance of our cars he should share it. Is that not what this forum is about?

If people don't want to share their mod list, they don't have to. last time I checked, there weren't any forum rules that stated this. There are plenty of pioneers on the org that won't share anything because we have a ton of leeches.

Extrude honing is hella expensive and not worth it. You'll get a lot more mileage by getting headers or a EU and tuning for the same money.
