I have a recent video showing the 2-step launch limiter in action at the dragstrip for those who are interested. The setting was 6400 rpm. The video is actually a full pass down the track during a bracket event with a local Z car club but it does showcase the 2-step pretty well. Much better than just going up to 3300 rpms in a laneway like I did on the first video.

Lemme see.... the sixty foot in that video was.... *digging through slips*.... 1.803. Which is not that great now that I'm fairly consistently pulling 1.7's but it's not horrible either of course.

My exhaust is completely Cattman... headers, y-pipe and catback. But on the video as you can probably tell, I have a cut-out installed after the y-pipe now.

I think it's the Invideo Codec.

I have the Kazaa Lite Codec Pack so I have just about every codec

At the starting line... all the rat-a-tat... that's the 2-step.

For those who need the Indeo codec, go here to download the codec. Once you install it then you should be able to play the avi's fine. I had the same problem at first.

I'm still a little confused as to how this 2-step works. Can someone try and explain it a little? In the mean time I'll keep searching.

Yes. I wasn't sure how it would sound but it does sound alright. Even better in person or off my new camcorder than just off the digicam that video was taken on. I suspect without the headers it would be a lot worse though.

It's an ignition cut that allows me to keep my foot on the floor and have the EU keep the rpms at whatever limit I set it to without continuing to rev up and bang off the rev limiter.

When you release the clutch does the EU let the limiter go?

Awesome Dandy...what fix did you figure out?

Also, how long do you think the tranny will handle that abuse and what are you planning to do to beef up your next one?

I'm not sure it was the EU's fault, I may have a TPS on the way out and the voltage wasn't holding according to the datalogger. But regardless I re-uploaded everything and then set the activation down lower to around 50% throttle. Seems to work fine now.

Good question. I'm keeping my fingers crossed on it and especially the clutch, which is stock, and hoping not to have to do anything this year. The car will go into storage as usual over the winter and then next year the plan is to put a VQ35 in there so I'll address it then.

I don't usually just hard-dump the launch though. I typically do a very quick slip into full engagement. It lessens the tire spin and weight transfer also.

On another note I now have a D18B pressure sensor wired into the EU and I'm building the conversion map. Should be running without MAF very soon and will let you know how it goes.

No, sorry. It was supposed to be end of June but they keep adding more updates in before releasing it. I have seen 5 or 6 different versions now. Hopefully not too much longer.
