WWWWWEEEEEEEE have lift off
Finalllllllllly i got this peice of $hit to run.
Car cranks easily and idles very steady. Car idles at 1000rpm( which is odd being that i was going to adjust it to that since it was originally idling at 700) so i guess that works since you are supposed to raise idle w/ these cams. I have to say these cams lope alot more than i expected and i am going to have to get used to it. At first when i cranked it i was like"f$$$ it is doing it again", but i remembered why 350z guys don't have that lope is becasue of their vct.
Now the only things that concern me is that i am only getting 8hg of vaccum. If i step on the gas a tad the vaccum will increase to around +10. I think it maybe throttle body related. Maybe i need to adjust it to open it up a little more at idle to flow more air. Also the car does run smoothly idle and vacc wise, but sound wise it doesnt sound as smooth as it did with my de-k. I am thinking that it is just something i am going to have to get used to w/ these cams. To rid my concerns i am getting them to do a compression test thiis morning to make sure everything is situated. If that checks out then i am going to bolt up the blower, a/c, alternator, and play with the tunning alot to see if we can smooth things out. I think the car just in need of a lot of tunning since i did so much stuff at on time so we will see. All i need is my wastegate to come in and hook up my electrone boost controller so i can regulate that 15psi pulley

i didn't do the install by myself, but yeah i do feel alot better now. I am using a autometer boost guage. I have a have electronic boost controller w/ a digital read out screen which i will compare the readouts with. I just need to hook it up to see what it is reading

So, SMs original drilling was too advanced for the cam grinds and he retarded timing more with these adapters or something?

Congrats! Chris, you are going to be the official "first" to supercharge a 3.5 swapped max. Good job. I am wondering how mine's going to lope compared to yours. Hopefully I don't have much bugs to work with.
Hey man, I did go by the shop today and saw your car on the rack. They are up and downing the rack when I was there. Seems like everything is going pretty smooth now. Thought you'd be in that shop today. Keep up with the tuning updates, too. I'll need some inputs from ya once mine gets racked up!

well guys i have some bad news. Looks like i was alittle premature in my assumptions. We put the supercharger back on today and the same problems occured that happened before. Vaccum went to $hit and the rough idle came back. We then did a compression test and guess what, it resulted in the same #'s as before. I have thrown in the towel on this project and have decided to start parting out the car and selling it. I am looking at getting a 350z now so i guess some good can come out of this .
Sorry guys but i don't have time for this b.s. anymore
If anyone is interested in any of my parts pm me.

My friend and I were speaking about this the other day and it was stated a supercharger with after market cams doesn't run well. To be honest, I never heard of anybody running cams with a supercharger. Just take them out and I think the problem will be solved.
that doesn't solve the uneven compression between the two banks. Check out my350z to see tons of guys running S/C w/ cams

Take off the S/C run NA for a while to make sure all is well, THEN try the s/c. If it still doesnt do the trick forget those cams and try stock cams. If AT THAT TIME it doesnt work, that's when I would spit on the car and part it out, lol. Seems you were so eager to get it all done (and I wouldnt blame you) that you just jumped into it as soon as you saw it idled fine.

remember that high overlap and boost don't go together well at all. If you want cams on an S/C'd car, you need more lift with little overlap.
uneven compression between heads sounds like you have one cam off a tooth. this would also explain the strange idle and poor vacuum. (I'm in the same position right now after building my engine, but without the S/C..)

after sitting down and calmly thinking about everything and sucking back a few beers, i have decided to give it on more f$$$ing try. One of my summer classes is over so i have some more time now so i took off work monday and tore everything down and put the stock cams in. I have the timming chains on, but i think i am going to get a new chain tensioner before i put the cover back on. We will see tommorow whether the car lives on or she gets stripped down and pushed out in the parking lot w/ a f/s sign on it.

I say you should run the car for at least 3 days with no boost. Maybe even a week. Give it time to show you that with no boost there is no problem. If its still acting up then refer back to your second to last post. You know..... out front with a sign...(LOL)

thanks guys.
Just ready to get this thing up and running. Tommorow i am finally going to take some pics of the car and of the intercooler setup. It looks just f$$$ing mean w/ the bumper cover off
