VQ35 in Sentra.. off to the dyno..

2003 Sentra SE-R, with a 2002 VQ35 from a Maxima.. and Spec V trans (with VQ bell housing) with the following mods..

Stone Racing headers/y-pipe for a 95-99 Maxima
2.5" exhaust with JIC Ti muffler
AEM Sentra CAI (modified for VQ)

This setup yielded 238whp, on a 91* day, with a hot engine (208* water temp)

This was on the "Dyno-Go" mobile dyno, at Nopi..

Discuss?

Can you change the graph to RPM? How big is the CAI on the Sentra intake. Needs IM modding for more top end.

I can't.. the idiots on the dyno wouldn't give us anything else..

The CAI is 3"..

What all goes into modding the 5.5-6th gen intake manifold? Since I can't really search on this site, I'm not sure what it's all about..

We offer VQ swaps, in house.. it's a very difficult swap, as far as wiring goes.. Our company has a CNC'd install kit, including mounts, bolts, etc.. that we use to swap these engines in. For more info, check out www.fi-r.net

At the rate that we're performing these swaps.. I'd hope so.. lol.. It's crazy how fast it's taken off.. I had no idea that it would catch on like this.

Making Altimas faster than Maximas? It gets us all mad, but hey we can do the same swap easier so it doesn't bother me too much.

just keep a list of all the cars you do this swap to or sell a kit to....so that we can avoid them....not that i'm scared or something

haha yes I meant sentra. I can't tell you how many times I have watched the Sentra video of the dude before he got the tach fixed. He drills the **** out of 2nd gear. I literally just keep playing back when he does it for like a minute straight. I love it ... I wish I could chirp 2nd in my max. I can dump first like it is no one's business, but I cannot break 2nd if I was getting paid to do it.

Yeah.. I've been known to bang gears here and there..

http://www.fi-r.net/images2/VQSwapFiles/VQSentraFun.wmv

Enjoy..

This is the same car that I posted the dyno chart of, up top.. it went 12.95 @ 104mph on 22x8 slicks.. I couldn't get better than a 1.85 60ft out of those tires..

Thanks.. This car has been in action since May.. the guy just got it to the dyno at Nopi..

I'm waiting on the intake manifold to be TIG'd, and I'll be able to start on the intercooler plumbing. The guy that does all of my aluminum TIG work crashed his bike a few weeks ago.. and hurt himself pretty bad.. Hopefully, he'll be back on his feet here soon, and I can get this damn car finished!

The turn-key swap, starts at 4995.00. You drop the car off, and pick it up when it's finished.. Bolt-on's are optional, and price varies.. most people end up spending around 6300.00 for a decently equipped setup, with clutch, exhaust, headers, and intake..

It might seem like more than what you would want to spend.. but, it's a LOT of work.. the wiring alone is mind boggling.. as well as the immobilizer system. We retain the 2k2+ harness and ECU, so that the CVTC and e-gas pedal can be used.

The best pass that I've been able to muster, on the tiny 22x8 slicks (mounted on a 7" rim), is 12.92 @ 105.2mph. This was in a 2004 Spec V, with passenger seat, and rear seats removed, as well as the spare tire and trunk carpet/deck. With some 24.5x9" slicks, on 9" rims.. the same setup could run 12.60's, with a 1.70 60ft. Toss in 100hp jetting, and you're well into the 11's for sure..
