pathfinder VI install

I got my hands on a pathfinder VI for 01 and up pathfinders.

these bolt right up to the 4th gen lower IM.

this is how it looks like

I am planning out how im gonna bolts these up.

i have downloaded the fsm for the max and the pathy so...i should have no problems with the vacuum lines.

now what do i do with the IACV?? can the maxima ecu control the pathy IACV? can i just splice the wires? or will I have to use the max IACV using an adapter plate?

AND...how would I activate the VI? The valves going into the individual cylinders for the shorter runner are connected on the side and i think they open up using some sort of vacuum...what is this unit called and where do i get this from?

and about the egr...can i just make a plate and block this off? the pathy doesnt have EGR so ill have to delete it.

and the gaskets...can i purchase these from any Nissan Dealer?

thanks in advance.

Search about using the 5th gen iacv and it will answer your Q's about the iacv. Get me pics of the VI, I bet you will have to hook it up like a MEVI.

heres a pic of the actuator. I made a couple of notes so you guys know what im talking about.

and about the IACV...i searched about the 5th gen and it seems as if it works but its in the way of the EGR. Since I will be deleting the EGR...i guess i can just use the pathfinder IACV. Has anyone actually used the pathfinder IACV...i tried searching but it looks like people either go with the 4th gen or without the IACV. And im an auto so will that make any difference if i chose to run without an IACV for a while if the pathfinder doesnt workout?

5th gen IACV and pathy are identical. It looks like the same way MEVI is hooked up.

Curious ... why did you choose to install the pathy IM? You will have good low-end and extreme high-end, but I believe your mid-range will suffer.

I actually dont think the middle range will suffer that much...The length from the throttle body to lower IM is a bit longer than with the 4th gen. The actual runners are a lot longer but the length from the throttle body to the runners is just a lot shorter with the pathy...so it kinda evens out.

also it seemed like an interesting setup...no one has done it yet so im just curious to see what would happen.

That actuator is technically the same as mevi, just read up in the 4th gen stickies about how that thing's hooked up. Basically, you'll need to hook up a vacuum bottle with a check valve to a vacuum source. You'll also need a rpm switch to activate a solenoid to "suck" the "red nipple" you got in that picture. It's using a negative pressure to pull that "blue rod" you got there.

I don't know much about the pathy intake manifold's form factor, but if you can get it to work, please post the how to's. But I reckon that the 00vi is already plenty of a VI for our VQ's, though.

and good luck

Please keep up informed on your progress, this could be quite a breakthrough if indeed it proves to be even more beneficial to the 00vi?

okay so regarding on how to open the VI...it seems like it works the same as the MEVI so I guess ill get the same parts. After searching around it seems like I need the following parts
-Vacuum Solenoid - GM #1997152
-Vacuum Canister - Nissan #22370-2Y500 Tank Assy
-RPM Switch

Can someone confirm that these are all that I need to open the VI?

and I just realized that the IM I bought did not come with the TPS. Can I use the 4th gen TPS or will I need the pathy TPS?

You can use the 4th gen TPS. It should fit right on.
