Napa vacuum canister part number please? (MEVI install)

This is frustrating. After thinking about it for literally 5+ years I am finally ready to install my VI. I have every single part except the vac. can. Every thread I read on here says to simply go to NAPA and get their vac. can. for $10-$12. Well, I tried that. Napa had no clue what I was talking about. I searched the .org for a part number and all I could find was 730-1607. When you input that into the search catalogue at Napa online, it comes up empty. Arrrggghh. Does anyone know the actual part number? And, lastly, does it come with a built-in checkvalve or not? I read mixed results in my search. Thanks guys.

- Josh

P.s. As a plan B, can someone list the Nissan OEM vac. can. part numbers (preferably the one with the built-in check valve).

---------------------------------------------

Edit to help out future searchers:

The NAPA vacuum canister (vacuum tank) part number is: 7301605 (note no dash in the part number although almost every other thread/sticky states there is a dash).

The Nissan OEM vacuum canister/tank WITH A BUILT-IN CHECK VALVE part number is: 22370-2Y50A.

Check with Iansw. He was one of the pioneers with the MEVI, and I'm pretty sure I got a PN from his posts when I did my MEVI. And call up NAPA with that PN. It may be good but not register online.

Ummm, thanks but........

- Your first link only tells me what I already said I know (the wrong part number).
- Your second link tells me what Kevlo already told me.

Thanks Kevlo. Well, I think I found it. It's under vacuum 'tank' (not 'canister') so I didn't find it with the word search. And apparently, there is no dash in the part number so I didn't find it by searching the part number (730-1607). Here are the three choices:
http://www.napaautoparts.com/MasterP...Tank&VehCode=N

I can't really tell the difference between the three so I guess I'll just go with 7301607??

Thanks everyone.

That's not the same one I got from NAPA 3-4 years ago. Mine was plastic & shaped sort of like a tunnel: about 6-7 inches in length, 2 inches high & wide, top rounded, bottom flat, check valve built it, and the 2 nipples on one end.
This will be no help finding the cannister but for additional info, try-

I can sell you mine if you'd like. I don't use my MEVI anymore. It's the old long tube tank.

Josh, hopefully that's the right part number Kevlo provided. Don't mean to insult you, but are you 100% sure Kevlo? When I did my MEVI, I pulled part numbers right from the stickies for the Nissan vacuum canister, EGR gasket, TB gasket, plenum gasket etc etc only to be let down.

Turns out, the EGR gasket was wrong and so was Nissan vacuum canister. The EGR gasket was too small (weird). With Curt's help, I was able to figure out that my vac can didn't have a check valve built in, (even though the part number in the sticky clearly said it did have a check valve built in) so I had to buy a $4 check valve from Autozone. The Nissan vacuum can is all black, where I believe the Nissan vac can that has a check valve built in has a white center piece where the hoses connect. I gathered this from the broken vacuum can Josh received with his MEVI, as it appears to have the check valve built in.

Like I told you before Josh, I too had that big round Napa vacuum can initially (part of IanSW's MEVI package deal) but didn't like the looks and didn't want to mount that ugly beast. So, I decided to get the Nissan vac can and hide it under the MEVI cover.

Quit slackin' on getting your parts, it's time to install your MEVI!!

When I searched that is what I found on the org

Thanks everyone for the input, much appreciated. Good grief Curt! That looks like something you'd bring to school on science fair day!! Good job. At the risk..... no at the guarantee of sounding stupid, where exactly is the vacuum canister in your picture? Is it the big Lego piece in the middle with the two white nobbies and two hoses coming off of it? Or is it hidden under that smoked coffin on the bottom?

NmexMAX, how much are you asking for you canister?

Thanks again guys.

It's the large, shiny, black piece running right-left across the bottom. Hose nipples are on the left end (and include a check valve). Dawes device (i.e., vacuum solenoid) in the middle, Harlan RPM switch in the upper left corner, and a relay in the upper right corner.
And for those critics of the Harlan, I've never had a problem. And since moving up to the 00VI, I've simplified the "control" panel:

NmexMAX and Curt,

That vac can looks huge. Will it fit under the MEVI cover?

Don't know if it will fit under the cover or not. My recollection is that it measures about 2x2x7 inches, but I don't know that you're going to find a more compact one. I figured that since I was going to also have the vacuum solenoid, RPM switch and relay, I might as well have them all together and organized in a neat, accessible way, and by using the terminal strip (Radio Shack) wires could be easily disconnected when/if necessary.
Since then I wired in an LED on my dash, and having that terminal stip made the wiring a piece of cake.

Well, thanks Nmex for telling me you'd sell me your tank but never responding to my PM when I sent you my address and asked for payment details. Thanks for the lost week.

Well, I guess I'll give up on Nmex and order an OEM tank from Garrands Nissan. Are we 100% that 22370-2y500 is the part number for a tank with a check valve built in? The .org is only about 85% reliable in most cases and it seems maybe even 65% when it comes to MEVI info. - lol.

Thanks guys.

O.k., I ordered the Nissan canister and received it the other day. Just to set things straight (and to perhaps help future searchers), here are the facts:

The NAPA vacuum canister (vacuum tank) part number is: 7301605 (note no dash in the part number although almost every other thread/sticky states there is a dash).

The Nissan OEM vacuum canister/tank WITH A BUILT-IN CHECK VALVE part number is: 22370-2Y50A.

The NAPA can be bought here for <$11 + shipping.

The OEM can be bought at Garrands for $24 ($32 list price) and no shipping if you spend over $50.

Thanks again Kevlo and Curt for the help.
