VAFCII install help.. CEL

I I just installed my VAFC and it just triggered a CEL.. The rpm is reading about 150rpm @ idle and its not reading anywhere 800rpm that the tach is reading. I am going to autozone to have them pull the codes 2mrw but if someone can give me some info on what i did wrong and i will spend the nite reading through the manual. Thank you.

You need to set up some basic things in it before you can run it. Its probably not reading correctly because you have it set to the wrong motor size. Make it 6cyl with an upwards arrow for the throttle setting.

As for the cel, its probably the MAF sensor, as that's the only wire you cut (unless vafc is different from an safc).

Make sure MAF wires are connected correctly. Make sure its on 6cyl. Make sure it the sensor numbers are the same. Make sure throttle is up right arrow.

I have already hooked 2 V-AFC2 and a S-AFC2 and they connect the same way. You only need to cut the MAF wire. The wires colors for MAF signal from V-AFC2 and S-AFC2 are the same.

aight guys the code is a P0171 which i am assuming is O2 sensor. I double checked the setting and according to the install instructions the sensor number is 4in and 4out. I am 6cycle and arrow up with vtec set to 1.

If it's an o2 sensor issue, then the VAFCII is obviously not the problem. This is assuming you did not tap into an O2 sensor wires.

Okay, you need to slow down and be sure of what you are splicing and cutting. The VAFC changed the MAF voltage...that is how it changes the AFR. You need to cut the MAF wire and connect one end of the vafc to the wire going to the maf and another wire on the vafc to the wire going to the ecu. You don't want to damage anything so you should be very careful and take your time. Be sure you cut the right wire.

For the maf, double/triple check wiring and be certain about sensor in/out numbers.
As for the O2, the V-AFC2 should'nt be wired to the oem O2's, only to a wideband O2. The oem ones ares used mainly for the closed loop operation.
(<3000 rpm and <40% TPS) And not for monitoring your AFR.
They only range from 0 to 1 volt, while a WbO2 will range from 0 to 5 volts.
All AFC's I've hooked-up, were not equiped with a WbO2 and were only BUTTDYNOED. To prevent knocking and beign lean at red line, air/fuel setting were set to a conservative -12 from 3000 to 6000 and -8 from 6100 to 6600.

Between the instructions that came with the VAFC, and GTR's writeup, it should be a slam dunk install. Slow down and

Okay the rpm is all set.. The only thing is the CEL and its still the o2 front bank lean so i am going to clen the MAF and check the voltages to make sure its still working. I double and triple checked the wiring just to be sure and everything is where its supposed to be. The car runs very clean and revs just fine and i did not change the settings because i dont have the wbo2 to see if i am rich or lean. Thank you for your help guys.

remove the wire you connected to the o2 sensor, I really think that is what is causing the trouble.
