full swap 4th gen is faster than a 5.5...cheaper too

i just dont understand why people choose to go with less area under the curve and less potential when they could just do a full swap...for hardly any difference in work.

Keep the car man. You have a temp 3.0VQ donor in the back aka parts car.
Worst case scenario swap for stock motor & take your time with the 3.5 & timing equipment. sh&8 you should be a pro at pulling that VQ out by now Fyi if / and when you get a rwd sports car. 240 z skyline etc, it will basically eliminate the sleeper effect we get with these "family cars"/"fullsize sedan" "maxipads" "grocery getters" Excuse my run-on sentences.lol Guess I am living my sleeper dreams through your car .SAAD I know but my project has come to a screaching stop due to the body shop.

update with progress: found out the problem guys. its not even that bad!

the cam spacer/adaptor....apparently the cam dowel pin that slides through the spacer into the sprocket on the 3.5 is smaller than the 3.0...so it didnt have enough 'bite' and it jumped timing on the exhaust cams. no damage done. but i am using the 350z cams i aquired just to be safe with some spare 3.0 cam dowel pins i had. should be running by thursday at latest. at that time, i will def. take videos if all is well for you guys.

Non-revup 350Z cams = maxima/altima/murano/quest cams. AKA, 238°/240° with 9.5mm lift.

completely off-topic old video my friend just uploaded recently of my other car. when it was stock except for an exhaust

1989 audi 200 quattro wagon
why it rocks: turbocharged, 5 cylinder, all wheel drive, 5 speed. 170hp stock. it now rocks a full 3 inch exhaust, chipped 2.2 bar ecu, 18psi wastegate spring and a 034 motorsports bpv. it should be putting out around 230-250hp. with MUCH more room for improvement.

ps: i didnt upload the video, so im not the large man. im in the comments if you want to look at my myspace page for some reason.

edit: i know the car is a piece of ****. so save your comments its just a funny car thats actually pretty ****ing quick. cool sleeper/daily/winter beater.

seems you were confused in the end. not trying to hate. if you got them for 5 bucks and really knew they were the same as maxima/altima/g/z...cams then nice steal

So you still selling for 5K? I hope not because of the blood, sweat and trears into this. Good luck with the timing and hope you are screaming yes pretty soon.

you must not have intake or headers, or a 5spd. or maybe a driver mod is in order . but really, with a 4.5 and bolt ons you can see low 13 easy.

The only swapped A32B that has gone low in the low 13 second range is Jime, 96sleeper, Tilley, JClaw and krismax I'm sure there are a few others that have slipped my mind, but the fact is, it's not as common as one would think.

Everyone else seemed to hover in the upper 13/slow 14's arena. Seems as if most in the upper 13/low14's had a y-pipe of some sort.

IMO the majority of the people that arent fast have a number of reasons, such as no tune or very few bolt ons. thats why i asked if he isnt modded. krismax ran 12 with low power number, and i think he could be faster than he ran too especially because of his weight

A hybrid 4.5 won't see low 13's/high 12's without cams unless there's MASSIVE weight reduction (a la krismax).

hmm, always felt different to me, probly cause i only feel like a few can be considered as others have no supporting mods or tune. and we know they run rich even WITHOUT mods. oh well.

ummm i have all of those. im just not cocky about my car and wont say **** i dont think it can do. ill let the slips talk when i get back from the track.

i pulled a 13.9@95 with a 2.060 60ft on street all season tires. on a beat 253k mile 3 liter. stock with a drop in air filter and 75 shot. when you can do that, then you can tell me to get a 'driver mod'.

but anyway....short ram intake, ebay headers, motostorm crank pulley, ssim, phenolic lower intake spacers, apex safc2

then i have my nitrous on top if i really need it. havent tried it on the 3.5 yet because its not filled.

That might actually run 13's easy

No driver mod needed

yeah, i have no doubt that you can get into the low 13's with those mods.

aiming low is always the way to go at the track, things have to fall into place just right to run really exceptional times. if you aim low you won't be disappointed - that's how I always look at it anyways.

Tone aside, he's right. Saying he's gonna run low 13's off the bat is unrealistic. Sometimes it's better to not say anything than to give someone false hope.
