EU installed, have some questions.

I have been on break for the past 2 weeks, so I have been busy with installing "upgrades" on the max. I installed Cattman headers (sound awesome) and EU.

I finally got around to playing with the logger and I did some WOT runs and after examining them I noticed that according to the logger, my water temp never rises above 150F. I'm wondering how accurate this is?

The gauge on the dash always makes it up to the "dot" on the temp gauge.

Next, after installing I noticed I have a rather funny idle. It seems loopy in a way. It only does this after it has been idling a few minutes. Almost seems like it is dumping extra fuel in the cylinders. I should mention I also got a 1302 MAP cel after the install. I checked the wiring and everything looks ok.

I'm also working with Dandy on this, but I wanted to see if anybody had other input on this.

My ECT hovers @ 190-200*F typically. T-stat opens @ ~180*F. That definitely seems low. In fact so low that the car probably would, theoretically, never make it to 'normal operating temp' (160*F+ IIRC). Therefor the ECU will run rich in order to heat the car up faster. (Closed loop)

Ok, thats what I thought. Somethings up here. If I let the car sit and idle long enough, the fans will kick in. The logger still comes in around 150F. I hooked up the logger and watched the car warm up from a cold start and it never gets past 150F.

Check the FSM where it has a voltage curve with respect to ECT (0-5v, where the higher the voltage the lower the value [ECT temp] and vice versa).

And then perhaps check the raw data values the EU is seeing from the ECU. Ultimately, seems like some type of wiring gremlin is after you.

ugh. the two dreaded words I was hoping to avoid. I will look into the wiring(again!!!) tomorrow. I will do some runs and I can make logs available so you can see what I am seeing. The car seems to be fine otherwise. I need to get the sub 10 AFR back up.

Check your jumper settings in your EU

Probably need to set JP13 to open. Nissan seems to have used 2 different types of water temp sensors. Now that I've got a DEK swapped in I've also had to switch the jumper. Before I used to have it set at 1-2 on the DE.

Yep thats my next thing to do. I ran the car at idle today and I got the temp up to 164F, but the temp gauge was half way between the dot and H. This time the fans did not come on.

I'll be changing the jumper today.
