The FWD VQ35DE intake manifold has a variable intake system called a VIAS. When you remove the variable intake actuator and butterfly valve, you will see a gain in top end power, but sacrifice low end. This leaves a large hole in the side of the intake manifold. You can use this plate in order to cleanly seal it off once again.
This plate can also be used for the SSIM (Secret Sauce Intake Manifold), which includes cutting the shelf out of the main chamber of the upper intake manifold. This will improve top end even more, but sacrifice low end.
This product is the best way to cap the end of the intake manifold once you have done one of these procedures.

Since the date is still not official, I didn't want to update this thread until I had concrete information.
But at this time, we are shooting to have these plates available for sale by Jan 11th if everything goes as planned.

With all that aside, I decided to make the letters raised b/c in my opinion, it looks way better than engraving and the costs aren't raised that much per piece. I also looked into Laser etching and again, the costs weren't that much higher. Ultimately, the raised lettering gives it a very unique look that I think really makes this piece stand out.
Casting is possible, but the piece wouldn't look that great. Plus the setup costs for casting are outrageous! Unless I'm thinking of ordering over a 1000 plates at a time, then casting really isn't a feasible option right now. But, by CNC Machining this piece, it gives it the cleanest look possible with minimal setup costs. I am not interested in making a subpar quality plate for cheaper costs. I know these can be made by anybody with a garage and simple hand tools. So I concentrated on producing a beautiful piece that people will be proud to put on their cars.

Point made, but you are still a business man. I'm not trying to change your mind here. This is clearly a beautiful piece. A cast piece can be equally striking. Depending on who you deal with casting can be very cost effective even on small production runs. I think I agree raised letters do look better.

They are getting close! I am very sorry that they weren't released on the 11th as I hoped for. But, we are working out some kinks right now with the CNC machine specs. I will not release this product until this plate is flawless!
By the end of this week, I will have a couple more prototypes ready for my inspection. Once I make a decision on which new cutting and finishing method is better, then the first batch will be instantly produced.
I wish I had another expected release date for you guys, but I will be sure to bump this thread as soon as I approve the 2nd phase of prototypes. Usually only one prototype is needed before production, but I want this part to be perfect! I hope you can bare with me a little while longer. You'll be happy to did, I promise!

I'm sorry. I definitely can't let the prototype go this early in the development. I have to hang into it for comparison purposes.
