And why did you have to cut and JB weld the valve cover? To get away with using a 5th gen valve cover?

Yes, that fitting was for a PCV valve. Yes, I used the 4th gen valve cover so I didnt have to get A33 rear valve covers and coils.

Where was the 4th gen PCV valve originally?

Oh, and IT STARTED! I took it to a mech, they hooked up a sweet smoke machine, and it was a huge vacuum leak...upper manifold gasket. It was on the back of it, so it was really hard to see/hear before. Anyhow, we put the A32 gasket on(the A33 was shot) and there is a small leak to where I idle high, but it runs great. I am going to work on that this weekend, just after classes this week.

Ah yes, sorry I forgot to put that. It was a 3/8" nipple with the smallest diameter threads they had at Ace. It was 1/4 inch something, not sure whether it was thread pattern, inner diameter or outer.

Aznsap, works well and its easy. That took me 5 minutes with 3 different step-up bits.

Alright, Ive been having a vacuum leak lately, I think(high, fluctuating idle). I was wondering what gasket is better to use for the Upper? 4th or 5th gen?

I used the 5th gen gasket. then again, I have the 5th gen lower too. Still, I think the 5th gen gasket is your best bet. Since the 00VI has that groove for it's gasket I think you might have more leaking problems using the 4th gen gasket. and when you drilled he 4th gen lower, you filled the old holes right? so the 5th gen gasket should make a nice seal on the 4th gen lower. IMO....

Great Resource!
I have read many many threads about 00vi and I have decided to do this using build # 6 entails....

00 Upper and 4th gen Lower, 4th gen Fuel R&Inj, 00 TB w/ 00 IACV, and 00 EGR guide

To make this as easy as possible what I don't understand is why you cant just use an 00vi LIM and just get away with connecting the A32 rail and injectors???? I suppose this is because the LIM injector physical mount points must be a different size, due to the different cc of the injectors (240 as opposed to 270) so the LIM is machined to accommodate this and hence you have to go A32 LIM with A32 rail. It would be so much easier if you could just use a A33LIM with 4th Gen rail and not have to prepare the 4th GEN LIM.
