The guy, I emailed yesterday has answer me, it's 250$ including shipping, that include soldering the bridge, putting fuses on the circuit and fixing the damage circuit. I also have found an ECU locally for 100$ but I cant pick it up before thursday, I hope they dont sell it.

Edit: there is no traction control on the ECU found, but I have the TC on my ECU, since I'll have S/C should I get rid of the TC ?

I have found a spare ECU locally for really cheap, the guy gave me this number: A56R64ZE9 it came out of a 2001 Maxima GLE or GXE automatic tranny with traction control, I need to know asap if this ECU can work on my 2k1 20th anniversary auto with tcs, thank for helping (there is only one available and I don't want to miss it if that can work )

Just ordered the ECU, I'll have by tuesday. I'm going to contact my friend so he can come next week and reprogram the ecu, key and make all necessary softwares updates available. Maybe I will finally have the car running next week.

I got the ECU, but my friend that work at Nissan, told me yesterday their consult II has gone south and they cant have it repaired, he's waiting to get the training on the consult III and it's going to take some time before he can take it out from the dealer site. In the mean time if I want to advance I will have to send my original ECU to repair and it's going to cost 250$ to fix it, it's seem that the shortcut is no longer a shortcut.

Sorry guys, been very busy with the return to school since august, it's only for 4 months but at 50 it's pretty demanding, I'm shooting to get a construction general contractor licence, the exam are very difficult it demand many hours dedicated to study outside the course, so far I'm averaging 90 over all. I didn't really had time to advance the car, but the good news is I will be done with school on Nov 22nd and then I will have few weeks off until I start the operation of the new company so that will give me some time to finish the car. I'll keep you update in the next few weeks.

Spent the day cleaning the garage and assembling the car back together, car on wheels, both bumper are on, just missing the hinge on the front door. Spoke to my friend who's a nissan tech, he got his training on the Consult III since the Consult II was broken and his boss didn't want to pay for the repair. Now I'm stuck since he can't bring the consult III at my place, it kind of suck but can't do anything about it. I'm going to send my original burned ECU for repair and once I can start the engine, I'll bring the car to the dealer to have the second ECU programmed at the dealer site. I'm having 6 days of school left and then I'm done with it, so I'll have plenty of time in the next couple of weeks to finish the car and make sure it run smooth before I go to the next step and put the S/C on and tune it. At last I will either paint the car myself or send it to a local paint shop.

I have convince my wife to sell the Rogue so we can buy an M5 (my dream car) she agree but for next spring. There is many 2006 or 2007 available for reasonable price locally, I found a 2006 with 55000Km in mint condition for 32K CDN, hopefully I'll get a similar deal next spring.

I'd like to wish everyone a happy holidays. Hoping heatlh, hapiness and joy is part of your celebration.

I'm currently at the town house with the family and try to enjoy as much as possible the pleasure of winter. Once the holidays are over I will focus on finishing the car project and move on to the next project, which I will disclose once this project is completed.

Happy holidays.

Sorry to not following up much lately, with the organisation of the new business and construction contract, that left very little time to finish the car but I will soon. The ECU has been finally shipped out, when back I will start the car again and see how it now run. I had to spent some time on the X5, redoing the entire direction, changing battery, rear wiper motor and fixing minor things. I also need to replace the front shocks, I'm thinking of putting Bilstein any one have any experience with those shocks ? I'm probably going to sell the X5 in the next few months and get a F150 Raptor, working in the construction business now, it's seem that a pick-up truck will better serve my needs. One last word with the max, I want to get it out for spring time ( april-may ) I'm going to have a local shop to fix the leak and the exhaust ( coolant, oil pan, and a small tranny leaks ) I just need to have the dual exhaust weld in place. Beside that a car alignement is needed, suspension set-up properly and a paint jobs. Hooking up the guages, wide band O2, tempos

Finally the ECU will arrive next week, it's been complicate but it's now fixed and on its way. Apparently the brand new (2) OEM IACV valve kept blowing the ECU. I'm going to delete the IACV and live with the CEL and PO 505. Otherwise I need to throw 585$ cdn for Nissan IACV, talking about throwing money out the windows... Hopefully I can finally get the car to run by next week.

The emission laws are about to change, that is what we have been hearing from politicians lately. Driving on the right side is not my cup of tea and the JDM are now more difficult to import I think inspection is now mandatory o those car. Don't get me wrong I like the Skyline GTR a lot but it would not be a practical car as I have 2 kids, the maxima can seat 5 comfortably.

My wife and I wanted to buy an M5 this spring, but instead we have decide to buy this: http://www.fourwinns.com/model/H210-MT

We bought it with the 5.0L engine and fully loaded. Lol

P.S: I'm going to install the ECU tonight and try to fix the oil pan leak, coolant leak and crank it sometime this week.

Originally this word was use to describe the condition of an athlete, meaning he was in great shape. Apparently this is a slang that was also use by gangster to say wealthy.

Let say that my wife and I have been working our bott's off for a long time and we still but we take the time to enjoy life.

Busy busy and too busy. It seem that I have less and less time for my baby, I cleaned the garage today, so I'm hoping to bring it alive this week.

Cheers

Just talked to a guy at Avpro and apparently they have developed a module to replace the STA509A for the idle speed and the STA508A for the active motor mounts. He said they are still testing it. It detects overload and shuts down all drive to the idle valve for 2 seconds preventing damage. He said the will be selling it separate from the repair they do. I may replace mine before I have a P505 code. The ecu will still throw the code if the iacv goes bad.

Not having a CEL because the IACV is disconnect sound like a good idea, I no longer drive the max in winter, but I have yet to install the repaired ECU. I'm so f..kin busy with the house renovation that I barely have a life, but that's about to end soon. I'll find an hour to put back the ECU and crank the engine and hope for the best. It's been over 5 year that my baby is in the garage and I haven't drive it.

Please keep me posted about the new replacement chip, I'm highly interested in this mods. Thanks for the heads up.

It's been over a month since I last posted, I have been working like there is no tomorrow.

I'm still hoping to find sometime to work on the car soon, but since I have became a general contractor, my life has totally changed and time is a luxury I no longer have.

Thing will settle down some how, but going from project to project and it seem to never end. I'm not complaining but rather miss the time I spent in the garage and certainly missed the car a lot. We recently sold our country house so at lease I'll have a break there, so hopefully in the next few weeks I'll find some time to crank it and bring it back to life.

Cheers.

Look like the maxima is going to spend another winter in the garage, but I'm definitely going to finish her up in the next few weeks. I had a very busy summer as GC, still have a lot of construction work ahead but thing should settle down around dec. In resumé I dont have a lot of work to achieve in order to bring it back to life.

Oil pan gasket is leaking.
Coolant gasket is leaking on engine side.
I got the newly rebuilt ECU, just need to install it.
Exhaust need to be welded in the back.
O2 bung need to be welded.
Emanage set-up to be done.
I want to get the car paint over the winter.

Few months ago we sold the country house but we bought another one recently so the max will have a new home by next spring. I want to leave it there so I can get my garage back and can work on my F150 Foose. I want to swap the 6lbs for the 8 lbs pulley and get some tuning device. This truck has been really fun to drive, it help me not becoming impatient with the max. All in all it's going to be 6 years soon that the max is sitting in the garage, I would never tough it would take so long and really miss driving this car but life has it's own plan so I'm going to be a little more patient and hopefully I'll ear the engine growl soon.

Cheers every one.

Thanks man. I have no choice but to finish the car over the fall and winter and get it ready for spring 2013. Construction is quiet around january and february over here so I hope I can relax a little bit cuz the last 6 months as been pretty crazy and it look like we are going to be busy until christmas as least so that doesn't leave me much time on my own.
