Any issues using an EU with a 4.5gen?

I'm buying an EU and wanted to make sure there weren't any issues with installing it in my 4th gen with a 3.5L. My swap was not done using the A33 harness or ECU, just the engine.

Hey Sebastian. I'm just stating that it's not a full swap and that I'm still using the 4th gen ECU, timing equipment, etc. and not the 5.5gen goodies. I know the EU doesn't play well with the 5.5gen ECU but as far as I know, the 4th gen ECU is good to go.

You would be correct. My EU worked fine with the A32 ECU but when I swapped to the A33 ECU the coils started frying (3) and timing readings were all over the place. I have since installed a UTEC and it works like a charm.

Just so everyone's clear, you're using a UTEC w/ the A33B ECU though, correct?

Yes that's correct.

OP, the EU will work the same exact way it would work if you still had the 3.0 in there. It goes by ECU's, so as long as you have the 4th gen ECU, and choose VQ30DE-T in the EU options, you're good to go.

Good point. Just to be clear, I am using a A33B there would be no variable cam timimg with the A33, which is why I swapped from the A32 ECU in the first place. The wiring would have been a lot easier if it was an A34, well there wouldn't have been ANY wiring necessary just plug'n'prey..

Hey Ed. Mike's got a guy who will wire it up for $200 so it's plug 'n play.
