I meant,

If someone made a cheap set of headers that are like the OBX style rather than the SS Autochrome style I would just get those, then mod the collector.

Ok, so why not get those you mentioned and mod the collector? Those pieces are dirt cheap, IMO.

And people wonder why companies don't want to spend money on R&D to make new products for cheap Maxima owners...

Sorry man

$1000 on headers for a $3000-6000 car?

Most of us just don't have that kind of money to spend.

Truthfully I'd be fine with an equal length y-pipe.

Plus in any case, if manufacturers see an interest hopefully they will follow up.

Bottom line:

You gotta pay to play.

1000 headers on a vette is still alot, and people complain about it

1000 headers on a 4th gen fwd maxima is next to highway robbery

Competition drives prices down. There's not enough interest in the community for there to be many different manufacturers. You see where I'm going with this...

Take what you can get. As for me, cattman headers are worth it and I'll be rocking a set when the time/money is right. I'm a "do it right the first time" kind of guy. I like my car (for what it is), and I like equal-length headers. Simple addition...

cattman headers are the best for a maxima by far, but it is still a bit expensive

Can you link to the seller or something? That item is gone now.

no. If you buy those you'll need to modify the headers (flange area) and fabricate a new y pipe from scratch.
