Question about rpm switch

With the rpm switch i have how do you know where to set it? Do i have to just play with it to get it where i want it? Here are some pics of said switch.

Yeah, just play with it. IIRC, mine is set at 3200 and I adjusted the screw. It opens at ~5050rpm. Once you hook it up, get a partner to watch the light, put it in N, and slowly rev it up. Have them tell you exactly when it lights up and adjust from there.

I plan to install it in the cabin but i guess i will have to do that then. Would it hurt it to open earlier? Since im boosted is it really that bad?

Theoretically, youre supposed to open at the earliest moment where the transition cant be felt by foot, butt, etc...so it could be 4500, 5500, whatever. For you, go as early as possible, but if you feel it, means youll be running lean for a part of the band.

proper mevi activation is around 5200-5400 regardless of whether or not you are boosted.

when I dyno'd my car, I made 1 pull with the mevi closed and 1 open and the cross over point was at 5000rpms

You've got the right idea, but crossover of what?? The torque crossover point is the one that's important.
