Any Dyno Slips???

lol funny, this is why i never really got into posting. back when i had boost, i made 393 whp @ 10 psi vq30 dek turbo. Even the guys from the org that were there didnt believe it, had been on the same dyno for years. It was a very healthy engine with a good setup. Maybe this guy has a freak motor

Just because people spend a **** load of money doing all kind of crazzy crap , porting and polishing already well breathing engines, pulley this, name brand intake that, uhh , money doesnt equal power , smart mods equal power. Maybe hes got a freak engine, maybe he had some nitrous, who cares

I say, take it to the track, plenty of people have better times with less power. Its all for fun, let the fakers fake, and the haters hate, and the real nigs keep racing.

i think thats my car
travis ran at about 40 deg temps

i ran it at 83*
i am also qute a bit slower than Travis
and i hit 12.6's at 107-108mph

I think that those numbers are totally possible. why is it that everyone is so pissed off when their MASS PRODUCED bolt on parts dont pull the same numbers as someone elses? and who's to say that he just bolted them strait on. maybe he ported, matched and flowed the intake? why not ask instead of just assuming and calling him a liar? really guys, grow up and quit making such a big deal over this.

afterall sentra's are lighter then maxima's or altimas etc, I mean it is possible in a way, power to weight ratio. you figure that sentra has to weight at least 2700-2900 Pounds I am I wrong, and the maxima weights what 3300 thats a 6-700 pound difference. I mean yea its sketchy but I mean its a lighter car as well.

In my some how harsh reply, I was saying that with just the standard bolt on and no work on the heads, engine, tuning etc there is no way he can make 286 WHP no matter what car the engine is in, or what the guy claim.

Sometime people take us for idiots, those numbers are close to 330 HP to the crank, give or take few HP's.

Some people are just plain naive or stupid and would believe anything they see or ear without asking themselves if that make sense. I mean if anyone put a 3.5l in a Sentra, the engine wont produce more hp's because the car is smaller /lighter but the car should/will be faster than the same engine in a max because of the HP/weight ratio.

A dyno sheet is not a bullet proof result of the hp & tq that a given engine produce, unless the dyno has been professionally calibrated.

I spent close to 10 000$ in building a 9.5:1 C/R engine, and I would not brag any numbers unless I have an undeniable proof to put in the face of everyone, I would definitely show up and discuss of the work the engine had, I hope this close the loop.

Yeah.. but, people don't listen to logic..

You can't bolt on magical parts to make that kind of power, without going into the motor. It's not physically possible.. That's not "hating".. that's just common sense.

Case in point about dyno numbers... I have a buddy, we shall call him "I30tMikeD" who had a turbo I30 that the dyno said made 380whp @ 10psi. My turbo car on a different dyno said it made a measly 290whp @ 9psi and 375whp @ 12.5psi. At 10psi (so call it maybe 310-320whp if my dyno is to be believed), my car went through the traps at a best of 116mph on the same day that mikes car went a best of 112 or 113 mph. Which car do you think actually made more power, regardless of what the dyno numbers said?

Dyno numbers do not equate to how fast a car is, period. Anyone who doesn't believe this is incredibly naive and hasn't been building and racing cars long enough.

Amen to that .... Dynos (preferably the SAME dyno) should be used to measure and demonstrate changes and improvements - the absolute numbers will probably not repeat on the next dyno down the street. Been there - seen that.
