ok,so i was bored and started looking around to build a vq35 block i have,i plan on using 09 VQ pistons on it to raise the compression to 10.6,but i saw that some parts are ridicusly cheap,...wtf? look an 09 oil pump

http://www.courtesyparts.com/15010-p...-p-608674.html

the rings are like 70 bucks...
the 09 VQ is supossed to be better quality but why are parts for it so cheap???

Hello to all. I am a newbie, and have LOTS of questions. First one is, what is the proper way to post a thread? Second, what can I do to increase performance without deep engine surgery.

Newbie

Greetings to everyone. I am very new at this, but have a lot of practical experience working on cars. Can anyone give me suggestions on how to improve performance on my 1999 Maxima without deep engine surgery. Also, one question. On the floorboard, under the accelerator pedal, is a small, plastic stop of some kind. It looks like it is used to keep you from depressing the pedal TOO far. (I think they used to do this to BMWs being sold in the US, to keep the top speed reasonable). Anyone know what this is for? It's the first time I've ever seen something like this. Or is it just a guard so you don't wear a hole in the carpet?
