4" Intake + 440CC

Finally got around to installing the 4" intake and 440cc injectors and all I have to say is the intake is no slouch. I had to add fuel using the VAFCII just to be able to get the car to run at 14.7 idle(close to 22%). I have a UTEC that needs to wired up but the exchange rate took a dump and increased the cost of doing business (sending it to voltagedrop from plug and play wish there was someone in Canada that would do it) but I think I will need it becasue the VAFC does retard timing if you add fuel.

Anyway I just wanted to give anyone a heads up that is looking to run the same setup that the 4" intake and 440cc injectors WILL not run without adding fuel.

Yup, I was adding anywhere from 18-22%, even with the 1/17 in/out setting but keep this in mind too, as I saw a very aggressive timing curve even adding that much fuel due to the IPW.

Good posts in this thread about it. https://maxima.org/forums/dyno-discu...-bolt-ons.html

is there a specific injector size that would even out the air flow of bigger air meter? Back in the day on the old mk3 supra we used to upgrade to the bigger Lexus v8 air flow meter housing. Going up to 550cc injectors evened things out so it would run without much adjustment.

I run my Bosch 560cc injectors in all my customers Maxima 4" MAF/SAFC combos to get the flow correction as close to 0% as possible. There is some negative correction at full throttle/high RPM, which gives you some extra timing advance

I sell these injectors brand new all the time, I also build intakes and sell SAFC tuners as a complete package. If you have any Q's on this, let me know.

Got any pics of a 4" intake/MAF setup on a 4th gen? I think my 3.5 wants more air! Approximately what whp do the stock 3.5 injectors max out at? Are 440s or larger really necessary for a NA setup? I'm thinking about cams and 4" intake for next year....

I have 380cc injectors and they're overkill for my 4" intake, 3" exhaust 4.7 gen hybrid setup.

I only do them for 2000+, unfortunately.

Schmellyfart has a great looking 4" setup for 4th gens.

Stock 3.5 injectors max out around 280whp Dynojet.

Let me know if you need cams though.

Hadn't we heard of the guy @ 90% IDC @ 240 fwhp using the OEM Injectors? And I also thought the 335 Z injectors were good for 280?

Either way, I just hit you up re: 560cc injectors.

It's possible, the IDC to WHP correlation isn't 100% accurate unless we know the car's A/F and the type of dyno it was on, and what RPM range it was making that power.

Can't find the dyno thread but he was in the low to mid 240's near 6k running fairly lean (13.8 or so).

5.5 gen AT, normal bolt ons I/H/E, not 3" exhaust, stock ECU. I'll look again, can't be that hard t find in that dead dyno forum.
