Would this amp be OK on my eclipse 6.5s?
I currently have an ESX Quantam 1752 as indicated in my sig powering my sub, and have just ordered a JL 500/1 as a replacement. I was wondering....the ESX puts out 175x2 rms @ 4 ohms. Could I turn the gain down far enough to power my Eclipse 82641 coaxials (40w rms/80w max recommended) safely w/o overpowering them?

I dont see why not. Or leave the gains on the amp at around half way, and just dont turn the volume up as much. BTW, nice choice of amps. I really wanted an ESX, but they sold out before I could finally buy one. I only heard good things about them.....

If I don't end up using this one for the eclipses, I'll probably sell it. It does have about all in all a total years, maybe a little more, worth of usage out of it though, on the highest mode (bridged at 4 ohms), so I don't know what it's got left.
The main reason I'd have it on the eclipses is an easy, effective way of having an HPF on the things. If only my alpine deck's HPF worked like HPFs are supposed to...(if the HPF is active, it's active for everything put out by the head unit, including anything sent through the subwoofer pre-out. Duh, blocking the low frequencies on a sub is real effective. What were they thinking?)
