buzz from neons
i just put 2 blue neons on my car, a 3" under my steering wheel and a 10" under the passenger dash....and I've never had any so I am not sure if this is normal or not, but when i take off real fast or am at high rpm's the neons make this loud buzz sound. is this normal?? or is that a sign they are gonna break...??

Is the sound coming from the neons or through your speakers? If it is through your speakers then it probably has something to do with where you connected the power or ground wires, if your neons are making noise then I have no clue whats wrong because they shouldnt be making any noise.

The sound is most likely coming from your speakers. Neons run on different voltage than a car does. Hence needing the transformer. If the transformer is anywhere near your signal source, there will be some noise. Simple solution.....just turn them off. Is the noise still there?

ok maybe this sounds like a dumb question, I am not sure. but why would the buzz be from the speakers? the lights plug into my cig. lighter and are not wired into anything and i have no transformer for the lights either. so maybe i did something wrong, but when the lights are off, the noise goes away

they could just be one of two things:
1) cheap neons
2) they could just be backfeeding into the electrical system somehow cause they are cheap neons
Solution:
run your power leads of the main ignition harness and not your cig. lighter, but this time off a switch!
