question about amp and sub hook up....veterans please come on down!!!

have Kenwood KAC 929 which says it works on 2 and 4 ohms...

i have Shiva MK 3 12" sub which says DVC 8 ohm...

i'm going to bridge the sub but i'm worried that since sub says 8 ohm and amp says 2 or 4 ohms...the quality might not be up to par...

talked to people on net and they say i should be fine especially since i'm bridging or I should line them up parallel....is this true? what do you guys recommend?

amp has 460 watts bridged at 4 ohms i believe the the peak for subs is like 600 or 800....

This should be a perfect setup. If you run your dual 8ohm coils in parallel, the amp will see a 4ohm load. Then you can run the amp bridged at 4ohms mono. Most multi-channel amps can't handle a lower load.

Yep if you wire your Shiva in parallel then you'll get a 4 ohm load. If your amp puts out 460 @ 4 ohms that should be great for the Shiva.

man, i just learned that i'm only gonna push like 230 to 300 to my sub cause its 230X2 at 2 ohms and 150X2 at 4 ohms...and since my one shiva sub is 8 ohms, i think i can only use 4 ohms on the amp....dam, i wanted that 460...oh well, i'll get a better amp in future....
