Just got my 10w7 installed, a few ?'s

Yesterday i had my shop put in a jl10w7 in the jl high output box in my car, yes the thing does hit, but it like misses beats due to the amp (i kept the same amp that i had on my 12w3s, the jbl 600.1) So my question is does any1 have a recommendation on a amp in the 400-600 range that would give this sub some good power? My shop recommended the jl 1000/1 but the want 1000 for it. My friend however has a hookup on kicker amps and he could get me the new KX1200.1 amp for like 430$
Model KX1200.1
Power (WATTS), MONO 1200 @ 1 Ohm
Remote Bass Control Yes
Fan Cooling Yes
.. is this a good match for my sub being that its 1200w at 1 ohm? Also i was talking to Pearl96max and he recommended the mephis 1100d and the 1500d amps , would these be better for the w7 monster in my trunk?

How much are the Memphis amps? The only reason I'm asking is that you have an elite subwoofer and it sounds like you're trying to skimp on am amp. Spend as much as you can afford or you won't be enjoying your sub to it's fullest potential.

if you want a budget amp, take a look at the JBL 1200.1.

lots of ppl on caraudioforum.com run it for their subs as it puts out lots of power for a cheap price.. and its good quality, not like BOSE, PYRAMID, etc etc

Adire Audio also makes good products, though the amp mentioned is a bit pricier than the JBL :0

I currently have 3 JL 10W0 in a power wedge box. Would 1 10W7 sound better? I'm running the subs on a jl 500/1

You get what you pay for. Adire as a company has a way better warranty too. Say if you blow your sub, they will mail you a new one before they even get your old one back. I would definitely spend the few extra bucks and get that amp over the jbl 1200. I do have some experience with the jbl, and its not a bad amp.
