How do I take out the Bose Head Unit?

The tape deck in my bose HU broke so I am replacing it with another Bose HU so it should be a direct fit. I was wondering how I take out the headunit? Thank you.

remove the shifter piece with a flathead screwdriver pry it up on a side and pull it out, be sure to disconnect the cig-lighter.

unscrew the screws behind where the shifter piece was (next to ash tray and directly under the headunit)

disconnect clip on side of ash tray (for the light inside it) and pry ash tray out from the right side, it just pops out.

pry up the top vents and hazard switch/defrost switch piece from under the rear defrost and hazard switch, pry evenly and just pull up..

2 screws directly behind that piece about 6inches into the dash.

Middle piece of the dash with headunit should now lift up and straight out.. unscrew the screws holding the bose into the metal bracket and remove the harnesses from the back of the unit.

screw new one back in and put it all back together. sounds like a lot to do, but just start with the shifter piece and take off what looks like might hold the center piece in.. takes me 10 minutes to get everything off now.

good luck

Guys thanks alot!. It took me about 15 minutes to take everything out because I had to run in and out of the house looking at the instructions (printer broke). I t took about 5 minutes to switch radios and another 5 minutes to put it back together. Thanks again!
