PROBLEMS - Gen 3 BOSE speakers and amps
Okay before you say search, I did and I got some good info but I still have some questions.
Here's the deal:
92 Maxima SE, Bose tape deck HU and factory Bose system.
Both front speakers are out.
Asked car owner (GF, Allison) if the speakers both went out at the same time? A: yes
Asked Allison if speakers ever came back on, then went off again? A: yes the speakers would pop back on sometimes when she hit a bump, etc, however that was a year ago and they have both been off since.
So before I go tearing into the amps to replace the little diode's, resistors,. etc.. I am thinking since both go off at the same time and were coming back on everyonce in a while, wouldnt that besome sort of a loose connection/relay instead of the resistors inside the amps themselves?
Thanks for any help!!! Also where are the amps located? behind each speaker?
Plans are to replace the factory HU with an Alpine 7930 (my old one) and use a Bose adapter, nothing fancy, eventually maybe add an amp and some subs....

when i first got my car it didnt have the stock speakers up front, but if i were u i would just replace them cause they r a pita...so many people have problems w/ the bose now that r cars r old and its just not worth the trouble...i'd just put in some nice speakers and get an outside amp to power them...any decent aftermarket speakers that are powered by an outside amp will blow the bose away...
