new batt and alternator for my system?!?(kinda long)
i am getting a PG zxTI600.2 amp for my front stage, and a PGTI400.2 for my rear stage, and according to the ampere calculations i would be drawing 72 amperes. the TI600.2 supplies 150x2 and the ti400.2 supplies 100x2. am i correct? if so do i need a new battery and/or alternator? i was planning on getting a 15 farad cap by alumapro, should i get 1 or 2? i was going to wire each amp separately using 2 pairs of 0 gauge wires from the battery. is this possible? 1 more question, i read that 1 farad is only good for 100watts and not 1000watts like is currently thought, is this true? my questions are for the audio experts at the .org thanks guys

Some answers:
1) You will not need a new battery unless you plan to listen for extended periods of time with the engine off.
2) I doubt you will need a new alternator.
3) I think 1 15 Farad cap is more than enough (Were only talking about 500 watts here).
4) I think 2 pairs of 0 gauge is overkill. 1 pair of 0 gauge split by a distribution block will be plenty.
Just my $.02

if you want, do 1 farad cap, but caps are bandaids and i dont like them nor do you need one for this system,
as for the power wire, 4 guage wire is fine for you, id do 0/1 if u want/can so u can
a. say you have it
b. be ready for upgrades
c. be sure your getting ample power
but in all honesty, 0 guage and 1 farad cap would be more then enough
