porting rear deck!?!?

i was wondering if i could cut a hole in my rear deck in my 4g to vent for my 2 jl 12w7s. is it possible? would it mess up the sq? i want to make them take up as little room as possible, and porting apparently decreases space required in my trunk. also i heard that porting increases oomph in the car, would it be increased too much? also what if i just removed the armrest and the plastic door to the trunk? would that work the same as cutting a hole for a port? sorry for all of the questios....but any help is REALLY appreciated. Thanks

porting the rear deck (or the trunk for that matter) is not the same as porting the sub box.

porting the sub box will affect the SQ and SPL the subs produce. by porting the trunk into the car, you might hear a difference in sound, but not the difference heard when you port a box.

hehe i feel ya on that..
i have 1 jl 13.5w7 in my trunk and i always keep my armrest thing open n down to "port" some air through from my trunk..yes it is louder, but not enough space..
therefore i have come to this conclusion..after i get the 2nd 13.5w7 i am going to port my boxes through the back shelf speakers, to force the air into my car
i have already talked to 2 local shops on what 2 do..
but if u have ne questions or need ideas, since i have been on that topic for a while lemme know on aol.
